Best is not to discuss price (for me) , take them to the hotel and have sex. If they want to leave after ST, then give them 1500 and if they stay LT, then 3000. The Majority will be happy with that.
If you take very pretty girls and taje them out early, then they will not make enough money on the Drinks and tips (yes, many people do tip the girls) so she might be more expensive.

Search "Saphan Kwai" in this thread and you should find a few reports. Don't forget that you should speak at least some basic Thai (or be accompanied by someone who does) and know how to behave among the locals in places that are not tourist-oriented.

I ALWAYS agree on price and services that will be provided BEFOREHAND (when possible, of course). It avoids any misunderstanding and then you are more likely to pay a reasonable fee (and get what you pay for).
If you don't discuss the price beforehand, you might have a bad surprise at the end of the session with some girls who overestimate their own value (or who have their own idea of what the session should include or not and how long they must stay with you, etc.), unless, of course, you are willing to overpay every time (also to avoid drama), regardless of the quality of the session.
IMHO, it's more efficient to negotiate a reasonable fee beforehand and to explain that you might give a good tip at the end of the session, depending on the girl's performance.
I tend to agree on price beforehand too, but I assume Nic speaks from his long experience. There are many ways to go about it, I suppose. I would have thought that if you took a girl from one of those established places, where everyone knows the "usual" quote is around 4, 000 LT, and you don't discuss price at all, then the girl would feel like price was not an issue and then feel cheated if you offered 3, 000 in the morning. Doesn't that happen, Nic?

I do not discuss prices and just Go with the Flow. Sometimes discussing price just breaks the mood. I don't know how to explain that but if you go to a gogo and have great fun with a girl, then have to bicker for 20mn about the services she has to offer and how long she's going to stay. With the language barrier. Forget it.

Discussion about the price should not be a problem (and it doesn't last more than 5 minutes usually), especially if you have a good chemistry with the girl. The language barrier is usually not an issue (as the working girls learn quite quickly the necessary P4P vocabulary), and if it is already an issue before making the deal, then, you might have other more serious misunderstandings later, so, it is probably wiser (IMHO) to reconsider your options, then.
I am not comfortable with "up to you" deals or unspecified fees. At the end of the day (or of the night!), it's a commercial transaction, and it's better (again, IMHO) when the deal is clear for both parties.
At least, that's how I see things and proceed, and yes, it works very well for me...

90% this procedure works great for me. When it wasn't great its usually just the girl is not skilled enough.
I mostly agree with you. My experience is just that it's mostly a myth that the local Thai places in Bangkok are much cheaper or have prettier girls than the farang-oriented places.
