Great report and pictures. You brought back so many memories. I was feeeling your pain having fuck all those pretty young girls. You never mentioned Classicos. Did stop by. It is awesome when you run into chicas you know. I can not wait to get back.
I'm not a Classicos type of dude. Yes there tons of hotties in there, but many I usually can see before and after; so to speak.
However, Mr. G. And Mr. E. went there and can maybe they can give you the scoop on the nowadays of the place.
Thanks for the kind words to all across the Sosua board.

El Flow
A buddy just texted me from Sosua and said they had front row seats at Rumba Bar last night when they saw someone get shot at El Flow. One guy hit another over the head with a bottle. The other guy pulled out a gun and shot him 7 times.

The guy that hit him over the head with a bottle was trying to bring his brain (some) damage, LOL.
I've seen a gun get pulled on someone in Sosua once (in person) , but never anyone letting off shots. This stuff mostly goes on between the locals though. But one should still exercise caution: that could have been anyone of our asses rounding the corner to El Flow, beginning that trek up to Merengue Bar or Classicos and possibly get hit with a stray bullet.
I usually always pass through El Flow before crossing the street to get to Rumba Bar.

Part of the seen
Booze and loose women will attract some gun carrying guys. That happens in these good USA. It is almost always locals.

They don't have gun laws like we do in the US (needing to have concealed handgun licensing (CHL)). So in that instance it could have just been a guy stopping by for a drink who happened to have a gun on him.

I like to live my life on the edge but not that edge.

Laws are identical to US
Laws in DR are no different then US. Like US is little enforcement.

Carrying Guns Openly in Public
In the Dominican Republic, carrying a firearm in plain view in a public place is allowed, subject to a valid permit
Our guns laws kick ass, by the way. Sucks for you if you live somewhere like Chicago or NYC (where the felons have more guns than the law abiding citizens):

My amigo just informed me it was The WILD WILD WEST in El Flow last night!
He also had front row seats of the shootout.

I live in Md
Our gun laws are tough. So we do not have guys with assault rifles shooting people in movie theatres. One guy with a gun has a bad day can cause some big problems.

But I guarantee you all it would have taken was for a few other people in that theater to had been packing that night and they could have taken that SOB out and saved a lot of lives.
Can't count on the cops. They only show up AFTER shit has hit the fan.
I stand corrected then.
Yes, and no. Frannie may be right to correct you on a technicality in that there are laws on the books prohibiting the average swinging dick in the DR from carrying a pistol but you and I both know that Dominicans generally follow the rules of the street and that means if you can afford to buy or have been able to steal a pistol you can carry it around with you. How many young Dominicanos do you think there are that own a pistol keep it nice and safe tucked away at home, the answer is very few to NONE.
