B. I have lots of time but no patient for playing lots of game. Of course, it is possible to act slightly differently, but the common practice in the Thai-oriented places is that you first choose one or several girls who then, will entertain you, pour your drinks, etc. In those places, the owners don't earn much on drinks, but you are charged a (reasonable) "sitting fee" based on the time spent with the girl(s). So, that's why you are expected to choose (relatively) quickly at least one girl when you intend to stay some time in those places.
If there is no good chemistry with the girl you've chosen, it is, of course, still possible to change (or to get an additional girl), but it's not always the best thing to do (mostly because of the "face issue" in Thailand) as your "second choice" will know, well... that she was not your first selection (yes, [url="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Song_of_la_Palice"]Jacques de la Palice[/url] was a Frenchman too)! That's why it's often better (IMHO) to go to another place if there is no good chemistry with your first option.

I agree with most of your points, Rocksoff, but drinks are objectively cheaper in Thai go-go bars: you can get (for instance) a large beer for less than what you usually pay for a small one in tourist-oriented places (on average).
IMHO, the girls are much more attractive (again, on average) in Thai establishments. It's, of course, a question of personal taste, but for me, I would say that most girls (about 85%) that I see in tourist-oriented places are unattractive, while most (about 70%) of those who work in Thai go-go bars are very cute. They are also (on average) younger, with a fairer skin, not fat, etc. I don't say that you can't find nice ones for a reasonable fee in tourist-oriented places, but it requires more time, more efforts and also more luck. But admittedly, the girls working on the tourist-oriented P4P market are usually better performers (again on average and IMHO).
It's true that the Thai go-go bars are not that interesting for those who are into bar-hopping (which is not my case). I'm not a heavy drinker (of alcoholic beverages) and I'd rather (carefully) choose one place to stay and find a pleasant companion there, preferably for a LT session later (starting not too much late).
For ST sessions, freelancers are much better value (IMHO), but it also requires more patience and "dedication" to find a decent one (then, I have to visit several places, but yet, I prefer going to several places where I can find freelancers instead of going to numerous tourist-oriented bars). As a long-term resident in the Land of Smiles, I don't like the tourist-oriented bars very much nowadays: they are very "un-Thai" if you understand what I mean here. Girls (not all of them, of course, but many) are often noisy, pushy, vulgar and not well-mannered there (that's true also for certain freelancers, but curiously, less often than with bar girls in my own experience). It's quite the opposite in Thai-oriented establishments.

If you then treat her nice she is likely to go for LT and you'll also have a good initial ST session since she is motivated for you to go LT. If you don't like her that much during ST you can always say you are tired now to ask her to leave without making her lose face.
Hey guys, haven't seen any reports mentioning Cafe Thermae for a long time, maybe a year. (Course I may have missed them, but I tried a search and nada.) I always enjoyed that place. Is it still going?

The p4p situation in Bangkok deteriorates a little more on every visit. It is over-hyped, over-commercialized and over-priced. Read this and weep for those that recall the glory years of the seventies, eighties and nineties. I hardly recognise the once notorious Thermae and Nana Plaza is a sad ghost of its former self with near empty bars and abysmal quality. Tell me its because of Songkran and its not like this all the time.
Nonetheless, this is Thailand and there is still plenty of fun to be had. Picked this 1000 baht ST Buriram 20 year old from Nana Car Park and she was quite good fun although she surprised me by turning down an extra 500 for a second pop. But I was kinda pissed so maybe she reckoned it would be too much like hard work.
Hope that Pattaya hasn't slid as much as Bangkok has but I fear the worst.
