I'm going to Philippines a first time, so my question is, how safety is Manila and AC to walking around with digital camera, not the small compact, but big Nikon D200.
Thanx for advice

It depends. Look, don't take anything that you can't afford to lose. The KISS principle is in play at all times.
My suggestion is to not bring it at all, it is overkill. If you must bring, have it in safe unless you are using it.
Myself and 3 friends once did a night with 8 girls. Switching, fucking everywhere for 7 hours. We had cameras ready (Video and still), WHAT HAPPENDED? We totally forgot.
Well would not be the wisest thing to do. Its bad enough that if your a white guy you already stand out in the crowd. Showing expensive camera just go by a t shirt that says rob me I am rich.
If you have any street smarts this is the country you want to use them. If you use common sense most likely nothing will ever happen to you. Just like anywhere else. If the area does not feel right, look right, or seem right then move on to a safer area. ALSO remeber Taxi drivers, police, and politicians here are the sometimes the biggest crooks. Better idea is get compact camera and put it in Front pocket.

It is worth noting that if you click on that link directly, in the cbp.gov webserver logs, there will be a record of the fact that you went to their site from http://www.internationalsexguide.org
I am guessing with the way big brother is over there you might not want any government agency to know you were looking at this site.
For reference, this is a general rule, if website 1 has a link to website 2 and you click on that link, the guys who run website 2 will be able to see that you came to them from website 1.
The way around this is to copy the link, then paste it into your browser (thereby going to it directly rather than clicking on a link to get there).
Blunderer, your point is *very* well taken. Everyone should watch out for this. ISG converts links by default. For the newbies, the easy way to copy the link is to right click it, then "copy link location" in Firefox or something similar in Internet Explorer.

Thanx for advice
Ostentatious displays of wealth invite trouble in any big city but most especially third world ones.
I have a Sony K800 cell phone which incorporates a 3.2 megapixel camera & xenon flash - more than enough for holiday snaps/mongering memories - and can be slipped out of sight into a pocket.
I live in the Phils half the year & have family here, none of us will advise you to tote around flashy expensive items in full public view.
C'Ya & happy memories
Just to give another point of view, I've met many many people who have avoided bringing their expensive cameras to SE Asia for fear of theft, only to find they really regret not doing so.
What's the point of having a nice camera if you aren't going to use it when you most want high quality pictures. I rarely take pictures during day to day life, but (try) to take lots when wandering around - seems silly to have an expensive cam and only use it rarely.
Make sure you've got good travel insurance (which you'll want in case you are in a traffic accident or something anyway - touch wood) and the worst case is you'll be up for the excess, and, you be able to get a newer model :)

Anybody know if this can be bought in PI w/o prescription and how much does it cost?
I already been in SE Asia a few times with this camera (Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia) and no problem at all, even in Phnom Penh I was walking around with camera in my hand, and nobody bother me.
But thanx for advice.
Anybody know if this can be bought in PI w/o prescription and how much does it cost?
You can buy over the counter at almost any pharmacy. Reckon on about p40 for a 500mg capsule.
Sleepy Floyd,
I have never had a problem of walking up to a pharmacy counter and simply telling them what you want, as long as you have the cash they will sell.
Although, all of my pharmacy purchases have been in Angeles, I don't know if pharmacies are more strict about selling without prescription in other areas.
Cheers!

If you can spell it, you can buy it. Just fill in the scrap of paper at the counter of the local Mercury Drug with the name of the what you want, the dosage you want and number of tablets. The person behind the counter will handle the rest. I have never needed a doctors note for any antibiotic or pecker pill.

Essi,
If someone files a dispute against you, they can prevent you leaving the country untill the problem has been resolved.
Which can take many months.
