Kang-nam or Gang-nam is near COEX. It is a south of Han River and the eastern sid eof the city. Gang-nam gu (shown as Gangnamgu) is line 7 (light brown color on my map) and the stop is 730.

Hey moderator! Sorry I posted misleading info a few hours ago. The Kangnam or Gangnam line is 2, station 222. The previous post is the Gangnam-gu office - my mistake. Station 222 is still south of the Han River, a few hundred meets south and west of the Ritz Carlton.

Guys please allow a few questions as I'll be making my first visit to Seoul soon. I would appreciate your thoughts on the safety of a non Korean speaking caucasian walking alone around the RLDs and Hooker Hill in the evening. The archives seem to indicate Yongsan is best for foreigner service and I will go there for service. Could I safely wander 588 and Miari alone just to look at the girls? Lastly, is the Holiday Inn Mapo a decent location for touring and enjoying our hobby.

Generally should not be a major problem, but if you want to be on the safe side i would:

1) try and go with a Korean friend (if possible)
2) if that is not an option, would try and go during the day / afternoon, when you are less likely to run into a drunken bunch of rowdy guys (the keepers won't give you trouble, if you find trouble, you are likely to get it from a rough or drunk "custumer")

Now, it's onto what happened at Miari a few nights ago.

I had a few USAF buddies come up to Seoul to visit. They wanted to party. None of them are Korean. There's black, latino, white, yeah. We went out clubbing and we found a few Canadian and Russian chicks who wanted to party, but these boys wanted to sample some Korean punani.

I had previously told them not to be loud and obnoxious when going through the district, as Koreans find that extremely annoying.

So we were walking through, and naturally most places won't accept us. Let's say normally 50% won't accept foreigners. Since there were two Koreans in our group, 70% were willing to accept us.

I eventually ran into my aunt, who happens to be a Madame at the busiest "shop" in Miari, but I rarely go to her place. The reason being that she has so many customers, she doesn't give discounts easily. On top of that, her store is on the A row, right near one of the entrances. Well luckily for us, it was late, about 5am, and she eventually said she would accept all of us. Still, I knew she wasn't going to budge on her price so I didn't even ask.

I told her we'd just go sightseeing a little more then go home. I then said bye to her, and we started walking somewhere else. Eventually came upon one place, and they said they'd take us. I told the madame to let us in for 60,000 a piece, and she agreed, and also gave us extra beer and an hour, plus a show.

Sam, yes one of my aunts is a madame in Miari. She's towards the opposite end of the Gireum subway exit, close to the police station.

That place is busy though, so I only go there maybe once a month or so. I prefer going to the areas that are more "dead" and the madame's are willing to charge less and give more time, service, etc.

So, what's my point? I'd say, don't get involved with a working girl. It's just fun, nothing else. Once you start getting all these strong feelings for them, it just eats you up!

I feel you on what your saying about dating a working girl. For me, I have hung out with a couple AMP girls in the states, it's a shady business. They got a lot to hide. Holy crap, I just got back from Miari.

My god it was extremely busy tonight (last night?). It's currently 6:20am here in Seoul. I arrived at Miari around 12:30am. There was so many people, moreso than the average Friday or Saturday night, and this was a Wednesday night.
