gen san is, on balance, a faily boring place.

ge[/quote]i would agree with good enough that compared to most phil cities gen san does not have much going for it. however since i have been there a few times meeting my g / f, here are some places we have been to. none of which have working girls but all have filipinas who i am sure with a little eye contact could be seduced (i mean invited over to your table. lol.) after all you don't see too many forighners in gen san to start with. verandas is a place on the roof of a building with a big crowd on weekends and a live band sometimes. the dance floor is so crowded you will be guaranteed a lot of strange body contact wheather you want it or not. pahayahay is a nice place with a laid back atmosphere and also has a band sometimes. volume is a bar close by the plaza which is realtively new and their music is too loud for my taste but also has a big crowd on weekends. my favorite place though is mismo bar which (showing my age here) has a band most night that only plays 60 and 70 music. the owner's name is alex and he sings and plays keyboard. if his band is not playing that night he has another take his place which i good also. its not too far from the plaza and i am sure any trike driver would know its location. the walls are all covered with posters of artists from those years

Just wanted to say thanks to all the members for the trip reports. It has helped, and yes it is true, you can get all your questions answered by reading here before you go. I have read here probably a good 8-12 hours in the last month prior to my trip. For new members, it helps to go straight to "reports of distinction" and then just read other posts after that. I have to admit to being a member for a long time without writing any posts. I have been just a taker. I used it mostly in Brazil from 2002-2009, but I was always in Floripa and not much to say about the place. I promise to write some detailed trip reports during this adventure. I arrive Manila staying there for a few days at Cherry Blossoms in Ermita. Then off to Angeles City for another few days to check it out. I will only stay a few days and then I head south to Sabang to do a bunch of diving. My trip length is 45 days. If I get tired of Sabang, my plan is to go check out Boracay and Cebu. After 45 days in the Phils, I head to Thailand for 45 days and will do the same there.
