Couple of suggestions regarding your 1st visit.

Sounds as though you are a concerned about safety in Prague. As a FSU city Prague is both safe and extremely user friendly. Your best chance of getting ripped off is from an unscrupulous taxi driver of which there are many.

Dress in dark colors, try not to look as a tourist and you will be fine at any hour of the night or day

As to the Privates there are many variables that will affect your experience. Your mileage will vary depending on who is working, or answers the phone, whether you two click, Moon phase or the Gods of pussy, ect….

The key is to go and check it out. Get a bad feeling; move on to the next pair of legs.

My own preference is to hit Privates in the afternoon then clubs in the evening.

Expand your horizons beyond Praha 4 at night. Check out K5 or Sex Park, Atlas or other clubs. The metro is a snap to use and safe.

Praha 1 & 2 have been my favorite for quality and experience for both privates and clubs.

We all have a different user experience. Get out there and enjoy.

Not sure why do you think that 'closer to the hotel' equals 'safer' - the level of safety in generally the same in the wide centre of the city - the pickpockets are everywhere and I suppose you won't take too many dark back-streets. Sure, there are areas that are better to avoid after say 10pm, but most of the good privates are not open at that time anyway.

Another question is the quality of services at night - most of the girls in the good privates work during the day, so at night they'd be really tired. Would you expect a good service from them? Sure, you can call them during the day, and ask them about this possibility, but it's difficult unless they know you - it's always better to go there during the day and arrange this personally. I have double checked our history here, and I have found we were never part of the FSU. On the other hand we were part of 'eastern block' and it's true we were occupied by armies of the warsaw pact for more than two decades (more than 21 years to be precise).

When it comes to security, I believe the most important security threat in Prague are pickpockets. There is a lot of pickpockets from Bulgaria, Romania and former Yugoslavia, and they are dressed just like tourists. Just be careful when travelling by a metro, etc. They usually work in small groups (3 - 4 people) and once they choose a victim (for example when paying in a shop) they use a very simple trick - when the people want to get into the metro wagon, one of them "incidentally" stands in their way (so the people can't get in easily) and the other ones push the people inside while stealing things from their pockets. So be careful when travelling by a public transport, or when there is a crowd of people, and always keep all your valuables in the breast pocket and keep your jacket closed.

OK, taxis are not perfect, but the situation has improved recently, especially when you call a taxi over the phone - I don't recommend taking a random taxi on the street. It's always better to call an operator, order a taxi and ask for an estimate of the price so you have a strong argument when the driver is not OK.

Salons, Privates or Brothels will work the girls anywhere from 8-24 hour shifts.

Normally the earlier in the day means the fresher the girl and better service. You can always ask when you call if other girls will be in later.

Exceptions would be clubs like the Atlas, K5 ect…. where the girls are working 12 hour shifts starting at 8 or 9 pm.

IMHO other advantages of getting things done earlier are it’s much easier to hunt freebies after you have already been blown twice that day.

Yes I can confirm this. In the Metro in Prague I have had exactly this bad experience 3 years ago. In a province in CZ with a taxi, he brought me to a dark street and we were blocked with some funny and strange people, fortunately I managed and ordered the taxi to far away and so fast as possible.

CZ has wonderful women and good value for our money BUT be carefully with some criminals there. And what about Ukraine and Kiev? This is my new destination for our hobby, but I have been there mostly only in Kiev city center and until now only with good experiences in this issue CRIME in this country. Any advice of the dangers there in Kiev or in the Provinces like Kharkov?
