I don't think that you would be ignored, but you probably won't have much fun. In some Thai places, there might be a few girls who can speak as much English as you can speak Thai (or slightly more at best), but it's very likely the less attractive and older ones. If you cannot communicate with the girls, don't expect much in the room afterwards (for instance, a BBBJ is not granted by default with those providers, unlike with most of the girls working in the tourist-oriented places who are used to service foreigners).

The captain still welcomes me with a huge smile. That was my favourite one, just down the soi to the right, adjoining T-DED99, before it got cleaned up together with T-DED99.

I must say, some of the other places have seriously low-life characters hanging about outside. No one made any trouble for me though.

I went to Bacarra at 2 AM, I was tied up until then. I was totally sober. Several girls in the line up still, a couple of cute ones (1st floor). I'm not in the mood for spending a long time in there since it's so late. I get a beer and quickly flag down a girl who gives me good eye contact and smiles, she is actually hotter up close. Perfect white teeth, bright smile, cute face. She comes down and is very enthusiastic, she is grinding, dancing, laughing. I dance with her a bit and goof around. I tell her I'm short timing her and she is happy.

The waitress comes and asks me if I know the rules, I say yes, figuring she means the 600 BF and 2000 ST. She then brings me a piece of paper that says I have to pay 2 ladydrinks (320 baths) before I can bar fine a girl. This is the first time I hear of this. In fact I have bar fined several girls from Bacarra and found them to be very unpushy when it comes to ladydrinks (compared to many Nana bars). Usually here I get away with not buying a ladydrink at all as I don't spend hours discussing before I take a girl home. Anyway, I tell the waitress that it's late, the girl and I are both eager to go, and I'm not about to sit down to get 2 ladydrinks. She calls the mamasan who says I can get away with paying for one. I tell her it's late and I've barfined many girls from there, at much earlier times, with no drinks at all (except for mine). She then basically tells me to go.

Painful few minutes as I pay for my beer and the girl sits next to me, with a very disappointed look on her face (not directed at me but at the situation and the mamasan). I'm disappointed too as I liked her and her enthusiasm. We both want to go together and we are stopped by this stupid 300 pounds mamasan. Not a good experience.

I leave and bar fine a girl from another bar without even paying for another beer for myself. Just grab and go.

You could say I should have just paid the damn ladydrink in Bacarra, and maybe I should have. There is a limit to the BS I can put up with though.

This is probably just what I needed to push me into the freelancers scene.

No, it's not about the money at all. It's more about the principle. If not, when does it end? Why not charge you to come in and take a look? Charge you to sit down? Charge you to invite a girl down and talk 5 minutes?

At 2 AM, most bars understand that girls want to move out and customers want to pick up someone quick. In Bacarra I've sit down to get a beer. I'm paying them a 600 bath barfine. I have no problem paying 2000 ST. To try to get more on top of that and at that hour is just poor form and not something I want to encourage.

Jappos don't want to make a fuss or say no and probably end up paying for the drinks. Allowing the Big Thai Dicks to be rammed up their asses. And they take it with a smile.
