The thing about Indonesia (and Asia) is there is a big Lady Companion (LC) industry geared specifically towards locals, where guys 'pay' girls just to drink and 'party' with them. I consider Stadium and Golden Crown to be very similar. I thought Stadium had a better energy, but Golden Crown is a nicer place. I also liked the fact that there were lots of girls available for short time rooms upstairs in that front bar area of Stadium, and they do not have that at Golden Crown. (Yes, when I talk about it with locals I call it Crown, not Golden Crown.).

Crown's main entrance is not visible as you approach the area. I had to in fact ask the parking attendant where it was and he pointed me to a lighted entrance door. It felt like they try to hide themselves and not declare their presence loudly with bright neon signs. I took the lift to the top floor along with a couple who was already in there.

I had to pay an entrance fee of 80 K. Also, I noticed there were two ATMs strategically placed next to the entrance. To get to the dance hall, I have to walk past the KTV rooms to get there and along the way say a bunch of LCs and their mamasan waiting in front of a KTV room ready to be selected by the KTV patrons. When I got to the dance hall, to my surprise, I found there were in fact lots of people in there with all the tables already occupied. For folks who had been to Insanity in Bangkok, the hall in Crown is probably two times the size. However, a raised dance platform with some stupid statues in the middle probably took up half of the whole area.

As I stood in the back corner to see what I could do next, a very cute relatively curvy girl eyed me and motioned me over to join her and her friends. Cool, I joined them and as expected after a while asked me if she and her friends can get drinks. I know that is the price and so have no problem with that. After she saw me order a double gin and tonic, she also did a switch-a-roo and asked my permission if she can switch her order to something pricier, some kind of Korean alcohol which tasted like the watered down version of Maotai, and I said yes. As we talked and get comfortable with each other, she would ask if I am interested in getting high. I told her that I don't do drugs, in which she also got the hint that I am not about to sponsor her and her friends. Usually less than a dollar for the single pill. Check the expiration date and you can carry them with you into places like Indonesia if you feel you need them.
