Probably you have a better understanding they me about China, I am fluent in Chinese, drove more than 200000 kilometers in China, have a apartment, live several months there every year since 2000. What is a democracy without the power to protect the population, China is a very safe country, where the children, the women can go out alone at any time without any risk, this is more or less impossible in most of the cities in the US, Mexico, France, Italy, Spain, UK, Germany.

Just have a look about what is happening in the recent weeks, how many Chinese living in the US, Canada, . Are doing anything to come back to China, just because they feel safer to deal with the Covid 19.

I just wish they will find a better time than Summer on 2021, because not good weather for performances and can even be dangerous for marathon, long walk races.

What you say does not apply to my Chinese friends. As for the meat eating practices of the Chinese: the vast majority oppose the eating of dogs and the Government is beginning to circumscribe the wet markets.

I find many of the dietary habits of many Chinese to be disgusting, as you do. But I also find the carnivorous habits of many westerners to be also immoral and non sustainable.
