Following on from my summary, some more detail on my most recent travels.

I stayed at the Raffles (next to the Wafi mall) , its green as green gets.

Used to be able to park in the mall car park and then take a lift straight up if you had a room key, however that option is no longer an option especially after 10pm. Several spots have been noted in the Forum. My schedule only allowed me to try out the one closest to the Khalid Bin Al Waleed Metro Station. The place is easy to locate. It is on the first of the side streets east of Shaikh Kalifa Bin Zayed Street across from the Bur Juman Shopping Center. The Al Ibrahimi Restaurant is nearby and there is a sign out front of the building advertising its services.

It appears to be staffed mainly by PRC and Thai. The charge was 150 Dhs. I would rate my masseuse as about a 6 in both body and looks. The massage was okay (C+) and was a bit hurried so that extra service could be offered. There was an adequate amount of deliberate 'inadvertent' stroking to make sure that the extra service would be requested. I got the vibe that services beyond just a HJ might be in the offering; however, I suspect being located in the first massage room very near to the front door with a lot of audible traffic in and out led my provider to only offer the HJ this time. I chose the first option and ended up with a slightly chunky Korean in her mid-30s who was about a 6 for looks.

I wasn't expecting much but the massage turned out to be quite enjoyable. There wasn't much conversation as her English skills were poor and my Korean skills were non-existent. A couple times during the massage, the masseuse answered her cell phone and I could pick up enough of her fractured English that she was arranging after-work activities with a client. Just to continue and conclude the report for my last trip:

Second evening ventured to Imperial Suites; was not expecting all stunners but it always has a few good ones and I thought I may spot some of those doable south asians as well. There were three Russians / CIS of which one looked a potential in the dim light. Up close, she had an old face but slim / tight body. Agreed AED800 with her manager who had appeared by now and was very doable also if I had seen her sooner. AED300 to her and the rest to the girl in the room was the agreement.

She turned out to be Russian, spoke good english, we called some room service and had a few drinks, all of which she seemed to appreciate. Once the wraps came off, body was a good one, face not so. She was enthusiastic and removed my frustrations from the previous 24 hours. In the morning I had to rush so after another quick wake up jump, had to hurry her along and out. Apologised profusely for being in a rush and therefore not being able to drive her back to her place, gave her AED200 for the taxi ride / tip for the performance.

I will dig out the telephone numbers for my Indian / Pakistani call-in disaster and post partial numbers so that any others who want to double check can do so, maybe I got unlucky, but I would still say buyer beware with these on-line engagements.

Have been seeing a regular freebie for the last couple of months so not been on the game for quite awhile. Probably showing my age but am getting to a point where I now almost prefer a familiar warm body rather than a new one every other night.

Apparently her company had not paid her salary for 2 months. And being the ever pacifist pinoy, instead of confronting the employer to demand her wages, she's decided to skip to Hong kong for 2 months to earn some cash and leaving a work colleague to chase and collect the money on her behalf. (these companies really should be taken to court for abusing the good nature of their employees. And as she only revealed this the day before her flight, it was too late for me to do anything about it)

Anyway rant over. Since I had nothing else planned for the Friday night so decided on a scouting mission, starting with some crispy pata and beer at Club 7 in Park Regis.

(Was craving some pork as I was still feeling somewhat unfulfilled from the sausages I had midweek. The german restaurant had messed up my order so I didn't get the pork feast that I thought I ordered. Incidentally after the meal, I dropped into Boston Bar which was in the same hotel. Not much to report there and it is clearly past it's best days. Had about 10 ladies. 2-3 filipinos and remaining all PRC) , all sitting by the bar looking bored and none of them were better than a 5. Most of the punters were there watchng the footie game or having a quiet beer. So if anyone is around the Satwa area, I would suggest not to bother and head to Bur Dubai instead.)

Anyway back to Friday, got to Park Regis only to discover that Club 7 is now closed until further notice. Really surprised as they are almost always full during the weekends, so couldn't be that they were not making a profit. Wonder whether the management have been keeping up-to-date with their dues. Or maybe the vegas style shows and dancers finally got too much and drew the attention of the authorities. Whatever the reason, it's one less good Filipino bar around to bring a regular girl. It also meant a change of dinner plans.

But before leaving Park Regis, I popped my head into the Grandstand pub on the ground floor as it was pumping out some serious noise. Last time I was in there, it was just a regular but decent pub. Seems like that wasn't good enough as now it seems to have been converted into a pub / club. So basically it's now too dark and too loud for pub conversations. And equally its too small with no band or dance floor to be a club. Didn't see any ladies either.

By this time my hunger was calling the shots, so decided on my regular pre-night out spot at Huddles sports bar in Citymax Bur Dubai. I've found this to be a great place to start the night before exploring the other delights of Bur Dubai. The hotel is in a central area and the bar has decent food (the steak is quite alright. Never found any chunks of fat or gristle like many other places) , good band (no girl dancers so nothing to distract from the tunes) and a great singer (always smiling and clearly enjoys herself on-stage, interacts with the audience and even walks the floor after each set to say hi). There's also always some ladies sitting around, with a mix of stanis and PRC. However this is not among the bar's strengths so don't expect to find anything more than a 5.

Stayed in huddles awhile after dinner for the music. Quite a few punters had brought their dates here as well, some regular and some working. Called it a night at this point since I was not in a mood for hunting. So while no takeouts to report this time, hopefully people find the update on the mongering scene at some alternative venues useful.
