Certainly, there are independent ladies who clearly use their own apartment. They are usually in the higher price range, and perhaps they feel that weeds out the lowlifes and the stalkers.
But there is also a huge shared trick pad scene in the world.
Several ladies share an apartment that is mostly used to turn tricks. Each of them stores some of their clothes at the apartment and there are plenty of normal looking closets and dressers, but if you watch closely, the ladies pull towels and sheets out of many of those dresser drawers during the shower and preparation part of the session. And the refrigerator is stocked with lots of bottled water and soda. I have been in several such apartments in Spain and in the USA.
Not sure there is necessarily a pimp involved. No reason that several entrepreneurial ladies can't share a facility. And of course, if a landlord stops in they want to make it look like a regular apartment.
