My opinion is that the part of the Chinese mongering scene that caters to Chinese will bounce back quickly. The part of the mongering scene that caters to non-Chinese has been in decline for sometime and will be very slow to recover. I do think it will recover and that the police will look the other way for awhile because everyone wants to make money. As for me I will not return to China in 2020. Being over 60 it is not worth the risk of traveling. To me the risk now is when traveling.

I guess there are different ways to access it. I get mine from my Alipay app. The code either has your face pic or your full name on it. The code indicates whether you've been in Shanghai for at least 14 days and if you've checked into a hospital recently. A green color code means you are "safe. " The MPs require seeing it for entry. And, many stores and businesses require seeing it too for entry. I guess any app that required your bank or passport information will be able to also tap your travel and hospital records and then is able to generate the QR code. On the one hand, I'm impressed by the technology and how well integrated the Chinese networks are, but on the other hand, it's a bit unsettling how little civil liberties we have. Oh well. It's their country, we just live here. Btw, if other resident mongers have additional information about this QR code, it would be great to know it.
