The only upside is that the live band was better and I think the drink was also slightly cheaper. It cost 150 K for a cocktail vs more than 200 K that CJ charges and also not get a watered down gin and tonic for that cover drink. One thing that I noticed is that girls outnumbered the guys that night. I didn't see many leaving with the guys in the bar that night. One thing that I had learned from my trips to Indonesia are that Indo girls are not reliable and making any plans ahead of time is a futile exercise. My MO in Jakarta is undoubtedly more different than the typical mongers. I value my limited time here in Jakarta more than the money I could save if I am to do XYZ. I prefer quality over quantity, and I perceive the dollar value of my experience over what I would otherwise get back at home. Hence, I want to share my experience and maybe the lessons that could be learned from it somewhere if any. Here's my version of this event.

I went to Malio on Monday night looking for a girl recommended by a fellow ISG member, and had a great time with her. Very GFE quality with DFK, BBBJ and even CIM. I asked her if she might have a friend where we can have an enjoyable 3 some overnight that weekend. She recommended her friend who lives in Cianjur (four hours drive away from Jakarta). We connected and agreed to meet up on Friday. Given that she hardly had any money to come to Jakarta where she even showed me a screenshot of her account balance (only Rp. 2000, seriously? I transferred some money to help her cover the transportation cost.

She expected 3 million for LT but was willing to settle for 2 million given the effort she has already made coming here to Jakarta. I needed a backup just in case a date that I had with the waitress that I met at BART the previous night did not go anywhere. Unfortunately, it did given that her protective sister kept asking where she was (that's a separate story). So I decided to go with the original plan. Even that got messed up.

Looked like the Cianjur girl was not even coming over to meet up as she was with her friends in a KTV room. I can tell from her WA status update. Okay, I said screw it and headed over to CJ instead. CJ lineup that Friday night was good. There were plenty of good looking girls, definitely far better than the ones in BATS. As hot as she is, I am not willing to deviate from my original offer. She can look hot, but she is of no guarantee of a quality service in bed. I told her that's fine by me, even when later on her friend hinted to me that she is willing to settle for 2. 5.

Anyway, I moved on and settled for the previous girl that I saw. Since this girl brought along her friend who is doing this p4 p stuff for the first time, she was not willing to go with me unless I took them as a package. As I was also looking for a package, it works out nicely. I told them straight up that I would give them 2 million each and not to pull stupid stunt like needing to leave at dawn, they were very happy to accept my offer.

I am actually glad to end up with these two girls, and frankly had one of the best threesome so far in Indonesia. It was also hilarious when we had to order room service because the girls were hungry, and as the service boy delivered the food, these two girls were already in a state of undress. I read the forum, hear all these great things about CJs, get there and it's old women that have dolled themselves up. Average age of the hookers must have been in the 30's. Not to mention 200 k for a beer. Just a hotel hooker bar tourist trap.

So if you're saying BATS is a step down from CJs, it must be bad.

I've probably stopped by Blok M 10 times in 4 years. Huge disappointment every time. Even after 2 am when it's busier. People on this forum should be warning others to not even bother. People talk it about it as though it's a legitimate mongering option.

Malio I haven't been to since they got rid of the naked dancing. But before that everything about it was overpriced. It felt like a clip joint with the high prices then arbitrary 30% service charge on top of everything. They had some nice girls there (too many not so nice girls for the prices they charge), but I didn't think they were any girls there that you couldn't get at Classic for a fraction of the price if you were patient (I enjoy the hunt). In Malioboro itself I thought the quality was inferior to Malio Club. For what they charge at Malio I'd rather stick to Thai gogos. More fun, can go to my room, maybe turns into long time, works out cheaper, more transparent.

Where Jakarta excels (only my opinion and many will disagree), are the places like Classic. Good price at 365 k, mamasans don't hassle me for tips, can usually find a cute 19 or 20 year old, drinks reasonably priced, pricing is transparent (I think Classic have a 30% service charge on drinks but it's still a reasonable price), rooms are spotless.

It's interesting how people can have a completely different perspectives on the same venues and same city.

You have more places like travel and classic? With the line up. I believe city like Jakarta would have more like them I am talking along the same economy scale.

Cost of drinks for waitress washout, transport money you no doubt sent to kampung girl with 2,000 in her account who ended up having fun on your dime at the karaoke, and the high-end cocktails blown on the hard-core pros in CJs.

And the end result was you paid two million for two girls, one a saggy-boobed pro who clearly had been around the block a bit and the other a novice, which the rest of us could probably get for half the price, and we don't have to treat them to expensive hotel room service (plus tip for waiter).

I am glad you enjoyed what you got, it's your money and you are free to do with it what you like, but the idea that you have some cunning strategy that makes your game better than that of the rest of us is a wee bit of a stretch.

I've enjoyed ggek's posts. I haven't seen where he said he had any cunning strategy, but I do appreciate that he provided some reports that we don't often see here. For example, that roof top bar. People have mentioned that place to me in the past, I just never made it there. Whether it was any good or not is a moot point. He also ventured to Golden Crown, and although it's a solid option for picking up free lancers, we rarely ever see a report about it here. He isn't doing all of the same old crap we see people on this forum doing over and over again. Kudos to him for that.

LOL. And the fool is so full of himself he does not seem to notice that this is not a compliment. But, he is easy to ignore and that is the point of segregating his reports.

On a more relevant and important point: I don't mind buying girls drinks either. It can liven things up. But I find I have bought far more drinks for girls in a Go Go setting rather than in a FL pick up bar setting like CJ's or Spasso (BKK) because the FL's aready have a drink. But on those special nights when I went a litle overboard and bought a bottle in CJ's to party and dance all night with a couple of girls - those were very expensive CJ nights, but a lotta fun.

I decided to take a grab car tonight because I was going to a place I didn't know the exact location or best route. The car that accepted to take me gave me a call and told me he was actually a blue bird taxi monitoring the grab car line and asked me if that was ok that he drove a taxi. I told him sure it was as long as he knew the location. He said he had a GPS so it was no problem. I asked him why he was working the grab car line and his reply was interesting. He said there are certain times when the grab car price is way higher than the actual taxi fare will be. He claimed Sunday night was a good example because not many grab car drivers work that night. The taxi picked me up and he started his meter. When we arrived at the destination, the meter was less than half the price of the grab car service. But I paid him the grab car price with lesson learned. Never use Grab Car again. LOL!

I always found his posts to be informative and polite.

Girls at CJs don't' put away the drinks at nearly the same clip as gogo girls. And the drinks they serve there aren't tiny like in the gogos. The CJs girl I have bought drinks for usually only want one. It's not like the gogos where girls really have an incentive to get you to buy them drinks.

If we drink more its because I am in the mood to do so an buy more drinks for her. Last time I split 2 bottles of wine with a girl I took there. She had 3 glasses tops while I had the rest. I had a nice buzz and she was pretty drunk. Even giving me a BJ in the taxi on the way home.

I respect some and their personal preference to avoid North Jakarta and Kota Indah and cheap massage places, but the constant talk of BATS and CJ's and Blok M is promoting overpriced, overrated crap.
