Thanks for the response. Here in the Philippines we call them differently. I'll be in PP for several days so I will have the chance to hit most of the places recommended on these pages. However, I arrive during the evening and want to start the trip off right before fatigue takes over completely. Any recommendations for the first "don't miss" bar I should go to?

I'm afraid you'll be disappointed in PP.

Thanks Ekspat for the insight, but the truth is I've been here for five years and I'm ready for a change, even if the change of quality is in a slightly downward direction. I've read about 15 or 16 pages on this forum, and most of the guys seem to have a pretty good time. I doubt that my tastes are much different from theirs.

I've made a list of about twenty-five bars recommended by the guys here and it sounds to me like Martinis, Walkabout, Heart of Darkness and Sharky's are the first places that I should check out. In fact most of them sound a bit like LA Cafe, and if that's the case, I'll be a happy camper.

I've booked the Riverside for the first two nights and after that, we'll see. Will probably spend one night at Seam Reap to see Ankor Wat and if I'm lucky enough to find a keeper in PP, I'll take her with me. If not, I'll have a night to test my luck there.

I'm looking forward to the entire experience.

When I am in pp I always buy Zeagra. They sell it a petrol stations for $2. 30 for 4 x 100mg tablets. It always works well for me and I only take 1/4 of a tablet. Has anyone else tried it?

Not a clue who makes it or if it well known enough to have been copied!

That's so cheap! And it is sold at petrol stations? Ummm...
I dont remember exactly how much but Kamagra (4x100mg) cost me 20+USD in HCMC. Cialis (2x20mg) is more expensive.
A 20mg Cialis keeps me going 4 days or so while a 33mg of Kamagra lasts me only 3 to 5 hours. With Kamagra, it is difficult to time when to take, considering a lead time to take effect as well, besides the deed is not always guaranteed. A Cialis is good for a long weekend.

You can find taxi girls everywhere. The first place that comes to mind is Walkabout. There are freelancers there all the time. At a lot of the bars the girls may be available. Watch out for places like Shanghai where the girls are just cockteasers. At some of the restaurants the waitresses will go with you. Of course there are the brothels like on Street 63. There are usually some freelancers at the riverside looking for customers.

Silly me. It is a general term for WG, isnt it. I thought it has something to do with 'taxi'; like they hang around in taxi ranks, or they are delivered in a taxi etc.

Street 104 has the reliable rose bar(with rooms upstairs) as well as the bunny bar(nice girls,no men),and the open all hours nightowl with probably the best lookers in PP.Beware there are several genuine virgins here.

Heading south to st 136 is the noisy but full of girls 69 bar plus next door full of girls 136,across the road the affable pom dave has the up/down with the bonus ladyboys.
If you want girls with a few miles on the clock but guaranteed performers,mostly ex cycree,mikado,sophie try tahiti eden on 118.

And the always titilating le cycree,across the other side of norodom between 136 and 130.

Sharkey,walkabou and martini much better later,and there is always the heart after 1 or 2pm when the bar girls drift by-but beware of khmers with guns,seriously.

Any one who tried the new metered taxies in PP. The last bastion falling to civilisation!

Thanks very much for the information. It's nice to know something about the smaller places. I think my list now includes about 25 bars, so I might not have the chance to hit them all, but I'm sure going to try.

I've been past Mikado about a dozen times in the past few weeks and it was locked up. I reckon it's shut. La Cyrcee girls at the moment with about two exceptions are definitely not 'a few miles on the clock' though I haven't checked all the places you mention. Do you think Cyrcee kicks them out once they pass 25?

with all respect, any info on Cambodia that is more than a couple of months old has to be taken with a pinch of salt as things change so rapidly, but it's good to get a general picture or background info. Even some of the tourist guides have a 'best before' stamp on them <g>.

I will arrive in Phenom Penh tomorrow evening. If any of the more experienced Cambodia guys are in town and you want to get together for a beer, the first couple are on me. I've got the names of so many bars and so many semi-conflicting suggestions that I'm not sure where I'll start, but probably Martinis.
