East China - Shanghai

Hello, fellow monger friends, I come from a land far far away and somehow ended up in shanghai for two weeks. Been a monger myself in my country (same that has one ISG subforum dedicated to itself) and wanting to expands my horizons I came to this forum. I've been reading this thread and was curious about G18. Thanks to your wonderful reports I'm pretty sure I can find the place very easily however since I speak no mandarin at all I wanted to know if I will be able to "deal" with the ladies there, does the madamme speaks english well enough to explain everything to me? I still think 800 RMB is a high price but I could give it a try. Hey, do girls at G18 shave down there? Is just that I like a shaved p*ssy over an asian hairy mess (I've seen japanese porno movies)

One more thing, in my country there's a "foreign monger tax" that get prices higher for them. So, the price in G18 for foreigners is 800 RMB right? I wouldn't like to be overcharged.

Like the title said the Golden 18 on Wulumuqi road and the JinDing on Wudingxi road are closed. From what I know it is from today 22 November. Don't know when they are going to open again. I'll tell you as soon as I know guys. So does anyone know any other nice place in the same range of price and with the same service? Thank's everyone. Wish you all a happy mongering.

I haven't partied in Shanghai for sometime now (never in Pudong actually) and all the info I've RTFF would probably be outdated. I need your recommendation for a 4 star hotel in Pudong with good sauna or near a good sauna. I will be there early next week, hopefully saunas are open normal.

Just been to the Merilyn Sauna today and it was only open for normal sauna services, no FS available. I asked how long and was told definately today and tomorrow closed for FS! Seems there is a new round of clean up ongoing! Stay save, I think it will only get worse towards to Expo!

After reading Iwannahumpalot's (btw: funny name..) post I went to Chang Yi Lu friday around 6pm..as expected the bars were still empty...

Use caution while taking taxis to late-night venues.

A few months ago, I headed out to TRL around midnight & grabbed a taxi waiting in the street near my 5-star hotel in Pudong. What should have been a $5 taxi fare turned into about $30. I'm sure the meter was rigged since it was spinning at a very high rate. I should have jumped out at the nearest stop light, but was in a hurry to get to TRL. After arriving at Judy's, I paid him with two 100 yuan bills. Which he held up to the light and shouted that they were fake. So I took the bills back & gave him two fresh bills.

Later on, I checked with the hotel & indeed the two bills were fake. Of course, you know the scam. He dealt me two bad bills off the bottom of his stack of money & wound up keeping 400 yuan worth of good bills. A very expensive cab ride, indeed. (It took me a few days to pass off those bad bills since most places check them in scanner machines.)

The good news is that the night had a very happy ending after meeting a little cutie inside Manhattan..

Lesson learned: 1. Cabbies at the hotel valet might be a little more reliable late at night than street side ones nearby. 2. Watch the meter closely, especially late at night. 3. Beware of getting passed fake bills & double-paying.

I'm no newbie at international travel. I even carry a gps with me to make sure taxis don't take me on a "scenic" route. I kind of admired this guy for ripping me off so smoothly. Very creative. But never again.

I personally recommend Courtyard Marriott @ 838 Dongfang Rd
Sauna on the corner and Sauna behind in the big hotel called B....
I can't promise the sauna are still open as these days it looks it is a "wroking in progress" from what we can raed here.
The news of the Merrylin sauna closing for certain fun is a bad one (btw that saun is just some 500mtr from the above hotel and opposite the Intercontinental)

I didn't feel like putting in the time, money and effort for a trip to Manhattan's or Judy TOO, so I decided to venture to Sacrosa about 9:00 pm this evening. As I was getting on the elevator, I noticed three police officers getting off and one lady was talking with them. It didn't look like she was in custody or anything, just trying to explain something. Still, the old "this is a bad sign" radar went off. Just for piece of mind, I took the elevator to the 8th floor, walked down to 6 then got back on an elevator to 5F. As I got off three of the "door men" told me "we are closed" at the same time. I asked for how long and didn't get an answer. I didn't ask if this was a recent decision, but got the impression, it had happened in the last few minutes. Everyone was standing around and even the receptionist was still at her station.
I don't know if the police I saw were involved in the closing, but it sure felt like it. I was pissed.....like that matters.
Walked back to the Century City metro, and totally forgot about the bars that Humpalot mentioned. Second mistake. The only good thing was I didn't succumb to the touts across from the Intercontinental. Maybe you can't get service from the girls these guys have, but not sure I want to try. I even passed up a "mommy's" promise of a good time with one of her girl's. I know in some locale's these are good bet, not sure about Shanghai.
Anyway, it seems that this is going to be a bit of ongoing problem with the saunas, it is a damn shame I tell you!

Just get the receipt from them and have the hotel report them. You'll get your money back quickly.

Taxis here rarely cheat, because the penalty is quite punitive (by their standards).
