Taxi versus Uber (The Remix).
My girl spent the night and she had a early class this morning at a hospital (yes, that is correct: Medical Student) in Santo Domingo. I think it was a little before 7 AM and she was hitting Oper Taxi up in whatsapp. They were a little slow to respond so I said get on the phone. And I pulled out my iPhone to call her up a Uber (oh shit! I can hear the snickering now). She told me to wait. I called up program. Entered the destination and my location. Price estimate was 152 - 186 DOP with a 9 minute wait. My girl was like: "fuck that! Oper Taxi just told me 3 minutes". Thanked me. Gave me a kiss and she was out the door. Later, I asked her how much the taxi was to her destination: 250 DOP.
She is Dominican. She is paying with her own money. And medical students don't have a minute to waste. Now, I understand how some "struggle" to understand situations like this but I don't. Being a sexual tourist or sexpat with all the time in the world (and most of the money) allows one to leisurely move about the city (Santo Domingo and Santo Domingo Este) at ones own pace. I get that. What I don't get are sweeping statements that indicate a inability to step into the shoes of others and see their choices may make perfect sense to them.
In other Uber news: Waymo v, Uber trial. From CNET: "The trial kicked off on Monday with Waymo's lawyer Charles Verhoeven describing Uber as a cut-throat company that would do anything to win, including stealing from competitors and breaking the law. During Kalanick's testimony, Waymo attorney's showed him notes from a meeting held in late 2015 with members of Uber's self-driving project. The notes included a wish list that read: "source, all of their data, Tagging, road map, pound of flesh, IP".
Pound of flesh & IP. Wow! That's a smoking gun if I ever saw one! Good thing for him it isn't a murder trial. Because those notes go straight to showing motive.
Headed to Santo Domingo March 1 - 4, please help!
Travelling to SD and need all the help we can get. Two gringos need suggestions on hotels and everything else. We do not speak Spanish. I have read enough here to understand we need to stay in the Zona Colonial. We want a nice hotel that is Chica friendly. Any and all suggestions are appreciated. I am assuming the Hampton Inn and Embassy Suites are not chica friendly?
Tau Casa Conde is a good choice
50 bucks a night with a decent breakfast at the top of El Conde. The furniture is 2 years old and the place is well managed. Recently remodelled. You are 50 yards from a hang out spot called Pacos or Grands. Many expats sit and ogle what walks by. There are always 3 or 4 working girls drinking a beer waiting for some action. The working girls are not outsranding but many are doable. You can also invite one of the massage girls back to your room. Some of these girls are very attractive and will roll for 2000 pesos with no problem. I stayed at Roas last month and it is very worn but is very cheap. $40 bucks.

Street women compared to Cupid women.
For past few months, I am hunting on internet for some action in DR. Read multiple reports on Sosua, Santo Domingo and Boca Chica. After reading so so quality of women, I became hesitant to travel all the way to DR, just to get laid. Came across the website Dominican Cupid and received wonderful response from women of different ages and colors. Became friendly with 2 to 3 women in their mid 30's. For past two months I became very close to a woman and we both started making a plan to meet in person. The woman is beautiful and we chat on whattsapp, face time, talk on phone multiple times a day. The only problem is that, every 2- 3 weeks, she come up with a sad story and ask for money. So far, I have already helped her approx. $450.00. Now, after I have made the reservation for March 9th and she is asking me for $150 to buy clothes, asking me to buy her a used Samsung galaxy from USA and also expect me to give her few hundred dollars upon meeting. So, I am thinking that the trip of 3 days will cost me close to $2500.00 that includes $430 flight from JFK, $150.00 per day hotel, $150. Per day for meals, breakfast, $200 local transportation, maybe $200 as gift to her plus $150 for clothing and buying her a used Samsung $200. I will get laid maybe 3 times a day, that is 9 times in the total trip. 9 times laid for $2500.00.
Question to seniors is that what would you recommend. Go with inferior quality street women or spend $2500 for 9 times sex.
With so so quality women, I might save $1000.00. I do not have to stay in $150.00 hotel, don't need to spend for her meals, pay her $50.00 per session that is $450.00 for 9 times in 3 days.

Its clean relatively cheap, $50 one bedroom apt, $70 two bedroom apt (decent space, two balconies, good security). I know the owner there and work directly with her. Also I have some, chicas there and a contact on the ground that can help you navigate. He would be considered a tout but has never asked me for money. I don't have out with him much anymore but when I do I would just get him a beer when we were out and give him any left over gifts (chocolate, body sprays, etc) I had when I was leaving.
