SOI COWBOY.
Soi Cowboy is a small street full of bars and is packed with standard tourists and mongerers alike therefore it can be a little embarrasing for the more self conscious. Plus, I'm not 100% on this as I never paid for a girl there, but I think it caters more for the take home variety. With Nana Plaza so close, I wouldn't recommend Soi Cowboy unless you want to dance and party with your girl before any action.
Am I the only one to think that this makes no sense at all?
SC is still by far better than NEP in the sense that it offers a much wider variety of services (well, except if you are into LBs of course)
SC has BJ and HJ Bars (Jungle Jims, Moonshine Joint, Toy Bar, Afterschool Naughty boy corner) , Shows (More Topless, Full nude, Lesbian Show, Shower Show) and more PR Girls.
As a BKK REsident, I tend to avoid NEP and stay in SC where a lot more fun is to be had be it you are a "Standard Tourist" or "Mongerer" (whatever that means)
@Nic: PR girls - Why is their presence a plus (honest question)?
Great summary.
Congratulations for taking the hassle to do that and this should also represents an asnweer to those who do not RTFF and want all infos in one go.
NANA: Still there is a street activity daytime, let's say from mid afternoon onward, in Nana (Soi 4) including Nana Park (opposite the hotel) and behind it, ie the small soi heading to Annie's Soap Massage. Not terrific offer daytime, but sufficient talent for those who have the need.
True that NEP (Nana Entartainment Plaza) is absolutely dead till over 7pm.
It is always interesting to see the "tourist couples" (M+F) walking around Soi 4, with no mongering intentions.
I am always wodnering what go through the head of the women! And if they would ever go let their partner go alone to BKK (and Thailand) after having seen the huge offer all along Sukhumvit (and more).
Certainly I will not take my other half there as a flood light will be darker than the light one can have walking around. And understand what is going on.
This summary should go in the reports of distinctions, no doubt.
I've had luck in all areas including Nana. Nana has little food and trinkett stall (back of 2nd floor and top floor) where a lot of the bar girls assemble and eat before shift. They are not dolled up yet but with a little smile you can talk to them. I ask where they work and if I have even negotiated to immediately pay bf and start the date then. Maybe I'm likeable but I've had luck this way. No ladie drinks either but you're in it for the long haul. (LT probably). But beware, tonnes of really aggressive ladyboys then and since you're the only mongerer, they are quite annoying.
I don't understand what Dalapeno means by

[?] Nana Plaza seems far more sex orientated. [?]
I prefer Cowboy simply because overall I think they have a better selection of girls and I like the bars more. The number of good bars in Nana is declining, but I still go to Nana at least once per trip in order to check out the Rainbow bars. They still have what I am after. Rainbow 4 always has 4 or 5 lookers. I picked up a good one in Rainbow 1 last time. My barfine score in March was Cowboy 4x, Nana 1x. Cowboy wins.
Here's my plan for next week:
Day One:
Arrive Suvarnabhumi at 5.00am. Get to hotel 7.00am and dump my bags. Relax by pool then get some breakfast.
Visit the Fruit Shop for a pre-booked session at 10. 30am.
Return to hotel for 1pm to check in. Go for massage and some food. A bit of shopping in Pratunam?
Go for run in Lumpini Park at 5pm.
The Shrimp arrives at hotel 7pm, only one hour late. Early evening 'welcome back' bonk.
Go for drinks on roof-top bar, dinner and more drinks, watching the ladyboys outside NEP. Back to hotel for 'Good to see you again' bonk.
Day Two:
Wake up early and wait until The Shrimp realises what that big stick in the bed is. 'Good morning' bonk.
Chatuchak market, then repeat Day One.
Day Three:
Check out from hotel at mid-day, and say a fond farewell to The Shrimp.
Scurry down to the Fruit Shop for a 'Goodbye BKK' bonk.
Depart Suvarnabhumi 7. 30pm.
A good way to spend the weekend! Any suggestions on how to improve it gratefully received.
@Nic: PR girls - Why is their presence a plus (honest question)?
PR aka Public Relation?
But beware, tonnes of really aggressive ladyboys then and since you're the only mongerer, they are quite annoying.
IMHO I never found them "over aggressive"
Of course they are after you and your pants (for the content of the wallet rather than for the content behind the zipper even if they make you think so!) , but just as everyone else in all the monering areas (around the world)
So they might try to attract and grab your arms. But nothing more, nothing less than the nice (real female) cuties in the nearby bars.
Alone or with friends I have been walking through them in front of their bars (in the upper floors of NEP) and just played the game: smile, give them a compliment ("you are awsome","shall be back later") and walk past
Maybe those freaking out and horrified even by the touch, risk to show an attitude that for the LB becomes a challenge to capture you just for the sake of "winning a straight man" (and add a potential customer in their bar and ST portfolio).
At the end of the day, as Frank Zappa stated " (we are) only in it for the money".

Say a fond farewell to the The Shrimp.
Check out from hotel at mid-day.
Resume given schedule (Fruit shop for the goodbye BKK bonk and head to Suvarnabhumi)
Just my two cents... :) but I am sure you are going to have good time anyhow!
Mouse, after your trip to the market on Day Two you indicate that you intend to repeat Day One. That means that you need to arrive at the airport all over again and check back into the hotel. This is kind of a strange logistic, and the staff at the hotel will be giving you funny looks for trying to check into a hotel where you already have a room. I suggest that you use this time slot to cruise the Biergarden and look for a thirsty girl from Isaan.
Raz.

Was in Sharks with a buddy last weekend. He chats up a very attractive lady who agrees to come long-time to hotel. BF is paid and lady goes to change.
Mouthy, mousey momasan comes up and tells him that new price is 4000 thb for LT and 2500 for ST, plus barfine.
Friend demures, stating that he is a long-time, frequent customer and that he always pays less, plus a good tip for exceptional service.
Given the number of girls who beg him for repeat business, the girls have no trouble with him.
Momasan insists. Friend doesn't budge. Next thing you know Momasan says lady has period and can not go, and returned the BF.
During this I asked a service girl if she goes with customers. Of course she does, she claims 3-4 per month, but she too wants 2500 for ST, so I decline. We both leave.
So, is this the new standard price? 2500 + 600 for Short Time?
