Abstinence - Not a realistic option.

Rag on it all you want, but abstinence has a 100% effectiveness rate. It works every time it's tried. No other form of birth control is as effective. But lack of be / see has virtually nothing to do with why the two main ethnicities have such high incidents of teen pregnancies. Zilch.[/QUOTE]That makes me laugh. Abstinence is not workable simply because the girls do not abstain. Drunk girls may not even know what they are doing. You say lack of birth control has nothing to do with incidence of teen pregnancy. So please enlighten us, what it does have to do with? I am sure most of the pregnant girls were not using birth control, or did not know how to use it effectively. I guess you may be talking about USA blacks and Hispanics, rather than Thailand, but I don't see it makes huge difference, unless culturally American teenagers feel they are ready to start a family and get pregnant on purpose. I don't suppose you were suggesting all the girls gave no consent and were effectively rap-ed. There is still morning after pills for these cases. Welfare money? I can't think of much else.
Okay What percentage of pregnancies were due to birth control being used, but failing? I bet that was pretty low. Most girls I talk to that had babies at 16 or 17 (in Thailand) did not use birth control. I do know of the odd girl (in all cases older) that claimed she used the birth control but still got pregnant. There is no government support for single mothers in Thailand. They really have to support themselves, which makes it all the more confusing that they would choose to start a family as a teenager.
Normally condoms are very effective, if after condom failure, they use backup "morning after" pills. Many girls don't do that simply because they lack education or think they will get lucky.
Both the USA and Thailand have been teaching abstinence. Girls are too young to fuck. What a laugh. It has not been working, even if birth rates have been falling. These countries are still far in advance of other countries in the world. I bet they don't focus on abstinence in Scandinavian countries. Just teach the girls to be smarter.
Try telling all the guys here that all women should abstain from sex simply because birth control does not work 100% effectively. Priests are taught to abstain and look at all the warped behaviour that produces.
