The internet has now changed that. Moalboal, Bohol, Palawan, Dumagutte all have girls online looking for "boyfriends". The only exception seems to be Boracay. That's still essentially byo. As usual, being in town now is far more attractive than "I'm visiting next year".

The NCR was put in a rather strict lockdown last week for Holy week, which appears to be extended for another week. Curfew 6 pm, malls closed. Nobody over age 65 is to be moving about outdoors. In yesterday's news, Philippines Orthopedic Center announced the majority of its staff has tested positive.

Attractions? Also will limit.

If you just want a deserted beach no built up services but white sand, try Puerto Princessa.

Easy girls will be in places with tourists. However with essentially no foreign tourists left, even the tourist places have limited girls as they all went home when the cash flow dried up.

I chickened out when I had a chance to go there in February 2020 and cancelled my flights. In hindsight I think I made a mistake. Had I gone, I would still be enjoying life there. While the Vietnamese government may be heavy handed, that is what has kept the country relatively safe with less than 3,000 Covid cases and only 35 deaths since the start of the pandemic. If only we in the west had the resolve to look out for the greater good rather than individual rights at times. There have been Covid pockets from time to time, which resulted in showing they have targeted lockdowns and meticulous contact tracing down to a science. For the majority of the last year, with occasional interruptions, the Vietnamese have been free to mingle and party even in the bars and high traffic areas like Bui Vien Street in Saigon, and the Old Quarter in Hanoi.

I follow the Vietnamese online news regularly and once Vietnam says Vietnam is open for International travel without more than a few days of quarantine I would be very comfortable returning. That being said, I must transit through Taipei or Seoul so I must also follow what is happening in countries with connecting flights. I sense reopenings will be cautious, but once Asia starts to reopen, the rules throughout Asia will likely be closely coordinated. My bigger concern would be my own government's rules requiring costly lockdowns at my cost on my return when I can self isolate at home no cost to myself.
