I can only confirm Zipi bar and Forro Mambo, I was at Zipi last night and seemed decent.
A lot better gdp's at the main beach though, going to av Monsenhor Tambosa now so will report back. I may even try Bellisima too.

Thanks for the update and information, I walked by 111 yesterday on my way to Pirata and the store front was closed and I was trying to scope where the entrance was but it looks like its by the side. Bellisimo is definitely in my plans as well before I head out. Will report my experience once I have an update.

Note: they are daytime privées.
The entrance is between shops, you can't miss it.
Theres a sign that's says "111".
Theres a security guy but ignore him and go to 2nd floor.

When I went into the first room they quoted me 110 for the sex only option, and I didn't even bother staying there due to quality. I ended up paying 90 for that same option in the other room. Hearsay, I admit, is that Fortaleza is a lower-end mongering destination for a lot of people from Europe. Italians, Dutch, Germans, Portuguese. Looked like it. Didn't see many Americans, for instance. The bar was PACKED. Tons of girls, most of whom were not hot -- however with that number there are always the 1-2% that are do-able. When I say "not hot" I am judging against Cafe Foto, Miruna, and even the best of the bunch at 502, MV30, MC, etc. Going rate (first quote, no negotiation) was are $300 which seemed to be World Cup pricing. Lots of girls from other NE Brasil cities like Belem. By comparison my friend paid are $350 for 2 hours with a smoking hot escort from "Fortaleza by Night" (I think that was the site). So I'd say the girls at Zipi are tourist gouging. I left with no interest.

Full of dudes too. No entrance fee, as far as I could tell. Drinks were cheap. Did not get session pricing. Left uninterested. Avoid.

We were looking around and when we walked past the pole, all the girls started chanting "dance! Dance! Dance!" -- at least it made me smile LOL. Left without any interest, did not get pricing.
Sounds like the best bets are the privees -- especially Casa de Val, which gets good reviews on GPguia -- and the escort sites.
Overall I was pretty fucking unimpressed.

Have been to Fortaleza 5 times, the last being Fall of 2013. So my info below is as of a year ago:
Zipi bar is the early scene. A lot of the same girls from there go to other places like Mambo later that night.
Zipi has all types, some good looking, some average, some below average.
Mambo usually has more than a few good looking girls.
Bar 34 next to Mambo had very few people in it when I looked in. (It used to be Cafe del Mar).
I originally had the same confusion in my earlier trips about Armazem club (Wednesday nites) that you did.
I couldn't tell if they were pros or regular girls. I read on this forum that almost all are selling themselves.
When I went back to Armazem over a year ago, I realized that's true. Many are wearing short shorts.
And many are dressed like pros. Most of the girls there are GDPs available for money, just check how they dress.
And many at Armazem are pretty good looking.
The Iracema area has about half the number of nightclubs with available girls that it did 10 years ago.
A few clubs including Europa closed.
But with Mambo, Zipi, and Armazem on Wednesdays, I wouldn't agree that the action has completely "demised". There is still
action to be had, just not as much as 10 years ago.
I've been to Bellisimo twice. The first time I went there later in the evening, and there were a few good looking girls.
But most were not too hot. The second time I went too early, and there were only a few girls, none attractive.
You also used to be able to meet available garotas (GDPs) daytime on the beach at Praia de Futuro, but that stopped a few years ago.
(I heard because of political pressure).
That is unfortunate because it ended the chance of meeting these girls daytime at the beach.
Yearly update on the Fortaleza scene, January 2015.
GENERAL:
More brazilian tourists than usual. It seems to be less gringos than last year. As always Italians are in majority among the gringos, followed by a bunch of Dutch, Swiss and Scandinavians.
APARTMENT/HOTELS/POUSADAS:
Much harder than last year to find apartments. Prices between R$130-200/night. Less in low season and much less for long time rentals. Pousadas in the range of R$80-200. Take your time and check around. I found an excellent newly renovated pousada in a perfect location with kingsize-bed, AC, good Wifi, cable TV and frigobar. Negotiated it down from R$140 to R$100.
PRIVÉES:
* Rua Sena Madureira 961: About 10 puteiros on the first and second floor. An average of 3 girls/casa. Asking price R$60/30-45 minutes. The overall quality is low, but there are exceptions.
Recommendation: Natalia in the end of the corridor on the first floor. Until recently she just worked at one of the local escort sites. She got mad at her boss and started to work here. Morena clara, 25 years, blue eyes, big tits and a large round and firm ass. Very good session even though only CBJ. Allows photos. R$50/45 min. I think she won't work there for long. She's too beautiful to work in a cheap puteiro.
Note: Be careful with who (or what) you choose. You'll understand when you get there.

Canoa Quebrada is located close to Fortaleza, so I put the update in this thread.
General: Canoa Quebrada offers very nice beaches, relaxed atmosphere and excellent restaurants.
Nightlife: Concentraded to a 100 m strip on Broadway. Bar Todo Mundo, Canoa Central, Bar do Reggare, Meu Xodo, Caverna etc. Good lightlife only on weekends.
Pro's: There are about two dozens of pro's. A handful hot ones. However, the majority are oldies. Girls that I saw in Canoa 20-25 years ago. They used to f*ck for free. Now they are desperate trying to earn a living. Doesn't help they have bought silicontits. Don't come to Canoa hoping to find lots of hot GPs.
Non-pro's: Canoa has been one of the easiest places in Brazil getting laid for free. There used be lots of girls coming from other cities and villages wanting to have sex with gringos for free. Also many girls from the neighbour city Aracati. Things have changed a lot. Canoa is no longer that popular. It's still relatively easy to getting laid with a non-pro, but the hot ones are few.
One reason Canoa is going downhill is because the locals are getting greedy. Several of the small clubs on Broadway have started to charge a R$10 entrance. This is ridiculous. In Canoa people are used to wander around from bar to bar for free. The locals are not interested in wasting money on entrance fees. Resulting in that they stay in Aracati and ignore Canoa.
Safety: Be aware that some of the girls are bandits. They might put Boa Noite Cinderela in your drink and together with their friends they clean out your room.
