There is no such law in India. Even in some Islamic countries like Malaysia, where it is considered "haram" for people who are not married to be in close proximity, it would apply only to Muslims not to people of other faiths. It is just that when someone gives directions of places and specifies landmarks , the brain tends to lock in to keep an eye for the landmark that no longer exists, not always on the other clues given. Please allow me to dwell on this one.Few years ago a German live in couple visited India and depended on me for logistic support.I booked them at a state own Hotel,called Lodhi(Now sold and under reconstruction),the front office staff would not let the couple check in the same room because the family names were different and on being asked they said they were not married.
Well had to go upto GM and thing got resolved,but yes the menatility exists,not to give room,unless the couple was married.
Slightly deviating from the topic,even while hotel is aware the check in couple is entering the hotel for couple of hours,still the hotel suggests to check in as married couple.
Imagine if one checks in as a married couple and for any reason,the cops or any other authority makes a check,it will take less than 2 minutes to establish,the couple is not married and the powers to be to make a fast buck start blackmailing the couple,even if it is not a paid call and two consenting adults have checked in for fun and enjoyment .
Techenically,to the best of my knowledge,if two consenting adults are indulging together in a non public place there is no law barring the activity.
What is forbidden under Indian Law is a professional sex worker is not supposed to solicit within x distance of a Public Place,and no one can pimp or live on girl's income.
What actually happens when the authorities swoop,they level all sort of allegations,blackmail the couple,so as couple shells out money.
For no one wants the family to know or get arrested or go to a court for next years.
Although if it is a genuine mongering activity,one cannot get convicted,but then who wants to go through all that?

After reading this paragraph, I called and asked many 4 and 5 star hotels in Pune, Bangalore, Bombay and Delhi. Not one of them said that they ask for two people of the opposite sex to register as a married couple if they check in together. Also, if an hotel guest has anyone visiting during the day there is no need even to inform reception. People are not expected to carry their marriage registration papers. I have stayed with partners at Marriot, Saket (now its Sheraton I think and also at Radisson, ofcourse after paying for double occupancy. At Saket I was informed that guests are allowed in the rooms till 9 PM with no questions asked. What you need to ensure is the acceptable attire of the person visiting.-makes it easier and less attention grabbing.
BTW for GF place, if you travel towards Mathura / Agra from Delhi, ahead of Palwal (after Faridabad) theres a place called KOSI and theres a resort there named DABCHIK. It is GF and costs Rs 2K for short stay. Something similar to Rajhans at Surajkund where no questions are asked.
So if you have the time (about an hours drive from Delhi during non-peak hours) go there. It is clean, safe and not crowded (unlike Rajhans).

The police acted on a tip-off and raided the office of SN Net Special Friendship Club in the Karol Bagh area.
Eleven people, including four women, were arrested for allegedly running the friendship club.
The police found that nearly Rs 57 lakh was deposited since January in over a dozen bank accounts of the club. The friendship club charged from Rs.3,000 to Rs.10,000 per month from the clients," a police official said.

A few days back i got a call on my cell phone from a woman. Even as i was trying o recollect the nature and details of our association, she very clearly refreshed my memory (of incidents that took place nearly two years back) including my preference for middle aged high end women, how she helped me two years back to find a real stunner etc. She went on to add that she was changing her mobile number and gave me the new one.
The next day i got another call from another provider 9 a freind of the first one mentioned above).Again i had not used this woman's services for more than two years now. That means the first woman called her and told her that i am still alive and kicking !
And to top it i got yet another call, this time from a woman at Faridabad offering a fantastic GF experience. She gave the reference of the first woman mentioned here.
Disturbs me to know that my number resided in their records digitally or otherwise and they have me successfully verified and updated now.
Now we all should realise that tho' these women change their mobiles often, they dont loose track of us.Not a happy or comfortable realisation. But ofcourse in my many decades of mongering, this is the first such incident.
I guess there's a lesson in this for us.

Once you've interacted with them (or through them) twice then they are gonna keep your number handy as you then become a verified client. Nothing much to worry about though. Its a pretty normal thing. Think of it from a business perspective.

it is a good idea to invest in a lifetime validity pre paid card (lesser verification and you can hide ur real identity) and a low enad 2nd phone. This way you can keep your line and phone book clean.
My first ever encounter (missed) was in Jan 2005 in Pune ( I came for a frnds wedding and wanted to beat him in his 'First' night) when I came across this pimp called "Sunny" thru a lady advertised and S**yes***ad*.com. that chap called me up on Apte marge and took me to a cheap Hotel. Sent a Girl who was not worth even 1/4 for what I was paying (8K). I ran away, parting with 500 I paid for room.
After 2 years, this guy called me UP!! with my made up name I told him!!! telling he has some Russian Girl! I was horrified as this call I recieved right between a meeting in my office in broad day light.
Keep a seperate SIM, and dont keep ur cell all the time. Else yosu may get calls frm pimps as Banks/Credit Cards/Insaurance/ guys coax us day in and day out.

It has been amusing reading the comments about our cellphone numbers remaining on the cellphones of our mongering providers for years. From the way this business seems to work here in India, numbers change, drop off and get recycled ever so often that it would appear to be rather odd to have our numbers remain on the provider's cell phone for too long. Assuming that they contact five new people every day, most phones with a 600 number memory would saturate within four months at that rate. So, it would seem that they have that "little red book" on which they write the numbers down, probably with some comment about how good or bad they found us to be. If we were good, then they would call us back when business gets slow.
Having a separate phone for the mongering calls, as Ace suggests, is a good idea, perhaps, and turning off the phone during our regular "business hours" makes sure that we do not get into situations like Ace here has described of having to take such calls when we are in a serious meeting.
