I've also been told by my doctor here approximately when I can expect to receive the vaccine. My assumption is that the timing of the vaccines depends more on the age of the vaccine recipient than on citizenship. I did show proof of permanent residency when registering in person, but I think that was superfluous to requirements.

I have been extending my stay here every 6 months using their 'visa waiver' scheme (ie a 6 month visa extension). My current visa runs out in September when I will request another extension.

I have not left the country since I arrived in July 2019, and with the current ongoing 'rona restrictions on entry for foreigners I could leave the country tomorrow but would not be let back in again. So in a way I am trapped here, but it's a hell'uva place to be trapped!

My 3 years will be up in July next year and if the entry restrictions for foreigners have not been eased up by then (or the suspension on the 3-year rule) I will have to leave and go and live elsewhere.

-For you guys, the Astra-Zeneca-Oxford vaccine and the J&J vaccine (if available) are OK (most risk in younger women). The AZ vaccine is preferred as it provides more protection and is a 2 dose vaccine compared to the J&J vaccine.

-Russian Sputnik V seems good also based on published data in a major medical journal with a good reputation.

-The Pfizer (which is in PHIL) and Moderna vaccines, both 2 doses and both 90%+ effective even against some variants. These are the preferred.

This is a broad brush statement, so don't bust me on trivia with these. This is my area of expertise so I'm offering up the advice (maybe not worth 2 cents hahaha?

A 48 yo Australian died last week.

Note that complication rates are very low so I'm not fear mongering but it's something to be aware of if you are below 50.

In terms of "carrying" covid, the data suggests the vaccines reduce the ability of someone to get COVID with no symptoms and tranmit the virus to someone else. BUT. That data is only observational, the studies of this are ongoing, so don't count on this right now. That means you still need to mask (actually double mask, paper on bottom, cloth on top), distance, and good hand hygeine. You don't need to mask when you are eating filipina pussy however.

Most of the cases of blood clots are in younger women but not exclusively. However the risk of dying from COVID is higher than the risk of clots (to date). Also for the J&J vaccine, there is an ongoing study to see if 2 doses are needed.

I suspect for any of the vaccines booster doses will be required. That is just the way that some of these vaccines are.

None of the vaccines "change" your DNA. The Pfizer and Moderna are mRNA vaccines that program your body to make the COVID spike protein and then your body makes immunity. The J&J, AZ and Sputnik V are "vector" vaccines. They go into the nucleus (center) of your cells and use your own DNA mechanism to make mRNA which then makes the spike protein antigen and then immunity.

No vaccine is 100% effective. But we know if enough people have immunity, then the chance of getting the disease, even if the vaccine didn't give you immunity is reduced (but not ZERO).

The numbers are in favor of vaccine vs side effects (severe side effects such as blood clots). But, I suspect the J&J and AZ vaccines will not be recommended for younger women to be on the safe side, and because there are other alternatives that are effective.

I also know that Westie is doing some research on a COVID vaccine delivered via semen. Exciting work for sure.

Should we not just take our chances? I have no intention of taking any vaccine (I never got a flu or pneumonia shot) except if I absolutely must travel (not for Pinay pussy). It looks like the Philippines is seriously considering reopening the latter half of this year at least trying to organize this digital passport and simplify this process hopefully. I downloaded the app to give it a test drive but it requires an invitation code right now.

It says it will be used "Philippine flag carrier's flights from Manila to LOS Angeles and Singapore on select dates from May to June 2021", So this kind of app imo is more geared towards business and tourists at least we see some prep work going into reopening travel.

Cebu Pacific also raised some money to help vaccinate I assume its staff and prepare for the domestic reopening. It will be interesting to see what requirements will be necessary / accepted to fly.
