Barons and early Tulip did a pretty good job of keeping performance standards high. Should someone be fired for not providing a service they are supposed to? Not in HK specifically, but I've been to venues in other parts of Asia where service standards are uniform, but while all the girls tick the minimum of the boxes so you cannot complain, they do absolutely nothing more and the attitude is barely passable. So bland that I always wish I jerked off instead, and out of 5 sessions at a venue I cannot remember a single one. Uniformity basically means going for the lowest common denominator, and even disallowing truly great service as the punter is likely to be disappointed next time (same as you don't want a restaurant giving extra generous portions occasionally, since next time the patron will complain). I really don't think it should require any patience with shops. It's a service and like any other service there are certain expectations. I do expect fireworks to be standard. For many years they were. Why? Because most punters demanded it. Now guys are more apt to let poor performance slide.
