We had a couple of local infections in Shanghai recently, and as a result thousands of people are now in lockdown. Many people have been locked down NOT because they were in close contact with a sick person, but they were simply at the wrong place at the wrong time. So, think twice before going to an MP, going to an incall, or going to any other "naughty" place. Hopefully this blows over in a couple of weeks.

Curious if anyone keeps up with Stephen. For many years, he contributed greatly to the forum and to the scene. I understood he got arrested after transitioning his business from a informational website to an escort service. He was a good guy, just got overconfident about his ability to navigate the China scene.
Steven is still in jail in Shanghai, currently doing his 5th year of his 12 year sentence. I will generally check in from time to time, how he is doing. Although since the COVID virus started, personal visits are no longer allowed in Qingpu prison. So only from hearsay right now, he is still okay (as far as you can say for someone locked up in a Chinese prison).

It seems there's Steve's all over the ISG country threads, guys who start out as regular mongers trading insights, then leverage their knowledge into some form of pimping. The Peruvian and Costa Rican "Steve's" are also now doing hard time in prison. Dangerous way to make a living, but these guys develop a false sense of confidence and cockiness the longer they don't get caught. Steve's a great guy who felt he was providing a service that helped both mongers and WG's.
Steve's sad tale is also a great reminder to never reveal real name, phone, email, FB, etc to a WG, site like ISG or dating agency. Fake emails, burner SIMs, etc.
I haven't been to Shanghai in a long time and I noticed the forum doesn't have any good information about MPs lately. Is there any place working normally?

Actually I just came from a reconnaissance tour around some old places that I knew and to my surprise many are still there (at least 3 or 4) and I can garantee they didn't turn veggie.

The non-veggie MP scene is alive and well in SH (for the time being at least), and I have not been poorly treated in any of the places I've visited.

If I am right he is German I guess who put July's and other KTV things and charged a few for some other nightlife scenes?

In addition, he did not allow negative reviews. I actually liked him, especially when I was a noob to the Shanghai scene. He and his assistant both got busted. I feel bad for the guy. If he got a one or two year sentence, then I might say that he should have known this was possible, but a 12 year sentence is crazy.
Not long afterwards, Rain and some of her gals got busted too, but jail sentence was much shorter for them.

Hello all. Just stopping by to lurk. I haven't been to SH for quite a while. Interesting that the scene seems to still have some life in it.
I liked Steven. I met him for beers one night. We spoke often via text and message. The one time we met he seemed quite confident and concerned me enough to not see him face to face. I asked him if he felt safe. He believed he was lining the right pockets.
It's interesting that I did most of my China visits from 2009 to 2019. I still see the same names from back then. Baobab Cathy Maria. They have to be ancient! How's Beverly jones these days. ? Has she finally retired?
Good to see all the familiar screen names still active. Monger on for me!
