If I put them in my backpack in a cigarette pack, will it be okay? Has anyone bought joints and blunts and weed across the border? Are there dogs? Are there x-rays when crossing from San Diego to Mexico. I'm planning on throwing everything away on the way back to the USA. Just need to get the weed across from San Diego to Mexico.
Do I just park in the parking lot near the Jack in the Box? Then walk across and take a taxi? How long does the whole process take if I take my passport and walk across until I get a taxi? Like 15-20 minutes?

If you absolutely must bring weed, a pen might be the easiest. And from when you leave the jack in the box parking to being inside HK is less than 20 minutes if there's no wait at crossing. Only times I've seen a line is weekends at peak times. You can google border wait times for more accuracy.

Or if those are full you can go across the bridge and there is the big lot. (which could be a bit cheaper than the lots directly next to Jack in the Box.
Just follow the people walking south from Jack in the Box.
You will go through the Mexico gates, then border patrol inside the building, then just keep walking south for a block through the final gates into Tijuana where Taxi's will be waiting. Few taxi drivers will yell at you looking for your business before you get through the final gates but I normally just ignore and walk to the taxi stand after you exit through the gates.
Takes 10-15 to walk from Jack in the Box thru border patrol to get to the taxi. (assuming not much of a wait inside for the Mex border patrol to look at passport).
