Sure, the Nova Lodge is still open. About one week ago I left the hotel having stayed 26 nights in a good room.

I came directly from the Majestic Grande in Bangkok, but I can say that I was happy with everything at the Nova Lodge. The clue is that you must find a good room in this hotel built in the 1960ies and not that well maintaned.

The hotel has many rooms in a bad condition. Be sure to have a room in a good condition. A guy I got in contact with changed room three times until they gave him a good room.

As far as I remember the rate for a standard room, including breakfast buffet for two persons, is 1 300 baht.

The location is excellent. Near Tops supermarket, near Savoey seefood restaurant, close to the freelancers at Beach road and near the bars in soi 7 and 8. A few minutes by bahtbus to Walking street. A bahtbus in the other direction brings you to soi 6.

I enjoy swimming for exercise. The nice tropical garden with the 30 meter long swimming pool is the best I can find for the rate I had. I had a special price because I stayed long time.

If you get a good room you enjoy the atmosphere and charms of this hotel.

The information I received from the staff was that the Nova Lodge will close in a couple of months, I think after Songhkran. After a huge renovation it will open again with a new management.
