Finally confirmed booking to kolkotta on 8th March. Main reason is to explore sg. Thanks guys (john, lordvoldermont, Paidalyatri) for posting useful info for sg newbies. As we (me and my friend) will be coming to sg by duronto frm blore. As per train timining will reach howrah by 4 pm. We'll check into some lodge on arrival. Freshen up. Then venture to sg. Maybe we'll reach sg by 6 or 7 pm. We'll not have enough time to check all buildings. Will check 1 or 2 building and plan to have rocking time. Next day morning some official work we'll finish by 12and then we are totally free and want to go wild. Till what time is it safe to stay back in sg. And what time is good to enter sg. Will we get taxi or metro back to railway statation as we plan to stay near to railway station.

Will report back your rocking time in sg.

You will get central lodge for 350 bucks for 2, and other cheaper options too. Because this place is very near to Sialdah railway station, so there are tens of cheap lodges, and hotels.

Secondly, timing to visit SG in my view, should be after 2 PM. Because if you go there at 11 AM, you will find 75% of them sleeping, because of there night over time job. So better you go der after 2PM. One more thing at central metro station, ask any body about Harkata Gali or premchandra boral street. If you love desi maal, you can get.

There for 250 rs for an hr alon with 60 rs room rent.

Meghdoot, many others and railyatri niwas at howrah. Enjoy company of free lancers roaming outside howrah station. And inside the station suburb side. Good food is available there. In front of station, ride on jetty to ahirtola, walk to bkpal avenue, enter in sg. Best time 5 to 11pm festive scene! Loud music girls on streets, pimps running after you.
