Ryo Saeba, my hat is off to you. Probably the most comprehensive report in the bali forum in a long time. An absolute must read for anyone planning a visit to Bali.

One thing though. You mention not having any luck finding girls on the beach at sunset. If you were hanging out in front of 66, indeed, it is deserted. What you needed to do is travel south about 300 meters, where the beach is busy with all the beach umbrellas.

Just as sunset approaches, the beach boys gather beach chairs together, and start pouring beers. There are always lots of cute girls sitting around, nursing a cold one. A smile, a wave, and if they respond, you know they are on the game.

Definitely a ROD.

As for the girls on 66 beach I must have somehow missed them! Damn!

I had luck with some tourists(russian and korean) on my last visit in April. Do the koreans travel to Bali year round or are there certain months they travel the most?

It's always hot at this place, and it's dirty, but it's one of the places with a special atmosphere I like. This time I went there several times in daytime.

The girl I preferred came on her scooter when I saw her the first time. The beautiful legs spread she looked wonderful. After all she had a good attitude, was open to nasty things .... but by the end I was sweating like hell. That's life.

I forgot her name, but not her nice body - enjoy (especially JustBlue)

My neighbor here in Bali died today.

65 year old Frenchman, drank too much, ate too much rich food, smoked 2 packs a day, came down with kidney stones 5 days ago.
4 days ago, he went to the emergency room, and was admitted.
They performed a routine surgery on him the next day, to break down the stones, so he could flush them out. During the procedure, his blood pressure dropped below the acceptable level, and they had to stop.
The next day he was getting ready for them to resume the operation, when they found an infection.
Yesterday, they did a bunch of tests on him, to see what was going on.
He died at 9.00 this morning.

I apologize for being a downer, hopefully one person at least will benefit from these words of advice.

A lot nice cafe and bars are in the area as well. The beach (Semawang Beach) is also very nice especially on sun rise (as the beach facing east).

So where are the girls? There are two ways to find the girls. You can go to a bungalow (small hotel) and ask the staff to find you a girl or girls. Just describe how the girl you like most. About 15 minutes, he will come with some choices. If you like you can take, but if you don't just ask him to get more.

Second, you can go to a showroom. Choose the girl, take her/s, then go to a hotel. This way you can choose from more than 50 girls (depends on time). Showrooms you can go:

* 18X in Jl. Danau Poso (Behind Circle K - in front of 67X above) price:150.000 - 200.000
* Jl. Sekar Waru 3B. From Circle K, you take right. You go toward the big street (Bypass Ngurah Rai). The street is on the left not far. Maybe the first or second street on the left. Just find number 3B. It's like a small road. Just get in, and the showroom is in your left. price:200.000 - 250.000
* Jl. Sekar Waru 11B price:200.000 - 250.000 [added in 13 March 2009]
* Behind Sobek Rafting Office, take the first street on the right. Number 4A. price:150.000 - 200.000 [added in 13 March 2009]

Speaking of Semawang can anybody tell me if there is a joint operating on Jl Kanrang Sari Sanur on the right hand side going away from the beach.

There is always a collection of people on bikes in the compound , but no marked numbers?

The Barokah Hotel is a bit further down (closer to the "A" in "Kuta") than where you put it. Or you could add the number (bypass no. 456) in the description.

I got decent service in the Barokah hotel, both Eka, no 54, and Lulu, no 26, were nice.

What I found sorta fun: Those massage places that are all over Kuta/Legian have a few very cute girls, many of them Balinese, and the massage I got for 50k (plus a tip) was mostly surprisingly good. Just say no to those HJs that are sometimes on offer and collect their mobile numbers instead. They stop work earlier than the FS-shops, sometimes at 8, sometimes at 10 pm.

5X is on Jl Sudama on the left as you go towards Jl Danau Poso. Set back a few meters from the road.

Hi Barri,

Two years I spent 10 days in Sanur and I found your map most helpful. I wrote in to thank you and to give my feed back, on a girls’ pension on Danau Poso that you were asking about at the time - see my report # 349 dated 09.05.07.
I had also put in a report on my experiences #346 dd. 09.06.07 .
I'll look forward to your posts after your stay in Bali especially your updated map on SanurX which is immensely helpful for us mongers who have very limited time on our hands.
