Hi All,

I need some advice / opinion from anyone who can weigh in about a question I have. This is one of those 'I was hoping to visit AC, but should I? '. I'll explain my situation so that people who are out there can help me with my decision.

I don't get a lot of time to travel for mongering (about 10 days an year) so whatever the time that I have is quite precious for me. So far I've done trips to Thailand and KL. This year's plan was to do 5 days in Pattaya and 5 days in AC. I was concerned about the AC situation and have already cut down 2 days from my original plan and reduced the days to 3. But now with the latest news from out there I'm thinking whether I should ever go there.

My expectation was to get a feeling of the AC scene and have some good time with a few cute Filipinas. Given that there's very little to do outside mongering and the situation with the raids I'm feeling that I should not go there at all. I have a budget of about 300-330USD per day and I've read that Manila is somewhat expensive than AC and Pattaya. So I don't know whether my budget would fit that.

So given all that information, can anyone of the experienced members give me an opinion or some kind of input?

Here are the options that I have with me right now:

* Stick to the current plan and visit AC for 3 days.

* Don't go to the Philippines at all and stay in Pats or go to BKK as I don't want to take any risk at all.

* Visit Manila and find an area that would fit my budget.

Any advice is truly appreciated. I know that anyone of you can't give a direct answer so I'm just asking for a second opinion or some knowledge from the field.

Go to Ac. You will have a great time for a lot less money. I always stay at Orchid Inn Resort. Has a pool, cute bartender girls and near the action.

Thank you in advance.[/QUOTE]My trip next month includes 2 in Manila. 4 in Jakarta, and 4 in AC. The last raid included detaining bar customers which changes the whole game in AC. From what I believe to have happened is that the customers were taken to Manila (for questioning) and then returned to AC. It's not exactly clear to me why they were taken? Were these customers w / out proper IDs or just harassed for general purpose by the authorities.

So what should a monger on his way to AC do about this? It is a BIG change in law enforcement tactics by taking tourist. It will hurt business no doubt, there are too many alternatives to AC.

For my vacation I still plan on my final 4 days in AC BUT! I will most definitely have a back up plan. Maybe stay longer in Jakarta, or Manila, or go to Subic, etc.

AC is my favorite destination but getting less so w / all the negative anti mongering news. I would absolutely avoid the place around the 4/27th. 28th. 29th because Obama will be there in the PI.

Have a good back up plan and be ready to spend a few hun more to execute it.

Been in AC a few days now. Action has been good to this point. People have been carrying on as usual.

Picked one last night at Pharaohs and she insisted we also bring her friend. Ok I guess so. Good times.

Thank you all who replied to my post and sent PMs. Highly appreciated as always. So I've decided to keep my options open till the last moment (with an additional air ticket / hotel bookings). Though it'll waste a few hundred dollars it'll give me the flexibility of deciding at the last moment.

The Democratic Party that elected her husband president does not exist anymore, I wish it did.
