You can't be all into Beach Road 500 baht hookers.
Always count and check the minibar upon check in, while the room boy is in the room. AA Pattaya Residence is a good place and wouldn't cheat you intentionally.
Some jerk pulled that trick in Burma several years ago, opening the water, replacing Coke with Burma Cola. If I didn't pay, the maid would've been responsible since she didn't catch the creeps little trick when he checked out. Make sure all is okay before you let the room boy go ie: towels, lights, remote, bar, etc. Than give him a good tip.
Truth is I usually try to avoid rooms with a minibar-too much hassle. I prefer a room with just a empty refrig. Where I can put anything I want in it

After we agreed on a price I gave them a deposit for the room and they gave me a receipt. Several days later when I came back to check in, they asked for that receipt. I thought they just wanted to look at it but they kept it. I asked for it back, but they would not give it to me and said that was just for the deposit or something stupid like that. That was after I paid them in full for my 20 days stay. I demanded a receipt and they gave me one that only showed how much I paid. No other details. If I would not have had that when I checked out, I would have had to pay extra as they said I did not pay the full amount.
As I said in my other post, maybe an honest mistake or maybe just a dumb way of doing business. What I know for sure is that the receipt that I demanded saved me from being cheated out of money I didn't owe. I guess from now on I will also have to ask for a receipt when I want the minibar junk removed.
Hi all,
Anyone in Pattaya currently wants to go mongering with me? I prefer to have / be a wingman before I hit the clubs. Makes everything a lot more easier in terms of negotiations, keeping eyes open for scams, exchange options and company while searching for more fun. Had a great time last year. Want to repeat. I stay in Central Pattaya.
FIM,
I am back in blre, & suggest you try the floor shows at Angelwitch, WS. No rip off, good girls, Sadly, not many upscale gogos entertain Indians. Blame it on some of us, stingy but wanting all. Set an example, tip lots of respect with the baht s that is mandatory. Most thai girls are sweethearts'
Have you been to rasputin? Recommended soapie, try once. I suggest you avoid beach girls. At the gogos, you see what you get. And good music.
Have fun. Pm me and I can recommend a girl who is not a all out WG. She and sister works on references.
Happy mongering.
My wife is a prominent fund raiser for AIDS awareness in Chonburi as well as a counsellor for AIDS sufferers and we took a rare venture into Pattaya a few days ago. We walked along Beach Road for the first time in a long time and I could see my wife looking at all the freelancers who were touting for business.
I knew what she was doing and when we got into the car to drive home, she told me that she had counted 57 girls (including ladyboys) who are HIV positive and who regularly receive assistance from her charity.
I'm all for telling people to rubber up, but must call pure bullshit on this one.
Chonburi province is covers a large area, has over 2 million people and multiple hospitals.
As others pointed out, your wife must have exceptional memory and face recognitions skills, at night no less (since beach girls no longer hang out in numbers during the day). Assuming her charity from a town 80km away works with the general AIDS population in the province (I. E. Does not focus on Beach Road girls specifically) , she must be able to recall several thousand faces instantly, based on the a brief interaction under different conditions (in terms of lighting, makeup etc). Remarkable feat!
If she was able to personally recognize 57 HIV+ girls on Beach Road, it means there are many times more HIV+ girls who didn't seek help from her charity, or did not interact with your wife specifically (assuming she's not the only person there). Moreover, there are yet more who are not aware of their HIV status or haven't contacted any institutions. Rough back-of-hand calculation (taking a conservative estimate of 4x for the first number and 2x for the second) , says that there must have been 450 HIV+ girls on the beach at that time. More than the total number of working girls there on a typical night.
Again, no chance whatsoever of this being true.
To each their own but I really can't understand why anyone would go mongering on Beach Road.

Walking BR last night and this cutie approaches me. I ask if she goes LT and she says yes. I say how much and she says 1200. I didn't see a need to negotiate as that was a fair price so off we go to my room. This lady is 25 and no kids. Nice body and good attitude.
Too bad for those who can never find any lookers or the ones who go for less than 1500. Of course there are those guys who couldn't get laid in a hore house with a wad of $100 bills either. lol

The biggest problem is deciding which one to choose.
I am back from my vacation at Pattaya for the past 5 days.
Managed to meet Mr. Ent at Lucifer and another friend too. Had an amazing experience this time also, as usual. Covered all live music places, discos along with some go go's too.
Have attached a sample pic of a girl who was over there for the weekend from Bangkok, was a nice pick. She even dropped me back to the airport on her way back to Bangkok.
Even managed to have a good time with a Russian from Mask Club and a Black Girl from Tanzania. They are available towards the end of walking street near the Bali hat pier

I just call and book a room for that night. They say what time and I tell them. I would never pay 20 days in advance. Who does that? If it was New Year's Eve weekend, I'd give them one night, for a reservation, that's it.
As far as the minibar, sometimes I tell the room boy I'm going to empty it. Usually, I just tuck it into a closet. 12 bottles, big deal. I can do that in 5 minutes. Tell the maid, if you see her. They don't care. People do that all the time. Not using the minibar saves her a trip downstairs to get new bottles.
It seems you didn't lose money, that's good. It just sounds like there was confusion because nobody hands over 20, 000 Baht in advance and they wanted to cover their ass. Probably more than the desk managers monthly salary.
Prices for mongering must have been high in 2000 as the prices now have never been higher since I have been coming here. My first trip was in 2011 and I have been here in high and low season. Pattaya still has good value, but if prices continue to rise at the rate they have been lately, other locations may become interesting to me. Maybe the currency exchange had something to do with your costs?
To Hobbyist2.
The Thai Baht is much stronger now than in 2000 one USD is around 45 Bht back then, price for mongering is much lower back then half the price than now even 2011 everything is cheaper than nowdays.

Which hotels do you stay at for longer stays with a better rate that don't require the money up front at check in? Also, who said I handed over 20, 000 B?
I have seen someone lose their room to me this trip because they were paying daily. I booked that room for 7 days and the manager told them their room was no longer available and they had to check out and I checked in. OK, I am moving on from this topic.
