Probably 10 hours for a first-timer. But it does illustrate everything you need to get anywhere from Narita and back and familiar steps to take for any destination. But they do show up on those lists of foreigner friendly shops. So who knows. If you do opt for Chiba City you can ride on one of their upside-down monorails. They look pretty cool!

I'm the one who suggested Chiba as an option when this topic came up last September, but I've never stopped there myself. I also haven't researched train schedules, trip times, etc. Taking time out of the equation, I'm sure it would be more interesting to go into Tokyo proper, and I'm sure the foreigner friendly shops in Yoshiwara have more real experience with foreigners than the shops in Chiba.

Just finished a nice adventure in Tokyo. I didn't have a bunch of time for exploring the underworld, so just made a couple of stops.

So I did my first visit to Tokyo without planning too much and just trying to understand the scene based on reviews and websites I found. I want to share with you some information which might help.

For my first visit I did not went for the hardcore stuff and tried to look for soapland which will be close to my hotel. Thanks for posting a lot of good, detailed, original intel. LINE is definitely popular in Japan. No surprise you need something like a valid e-mail to authenticate, this requirement is to cut down on spammers and abuse. And it is very good you know what you wanted. Some guys want lots of oral worship, nuru, and some ridiculous positions. I was brave and at soapland allowed women to put me "on their lap" in a bathtub as they sucked me, it was quite wild and new. The three tips I have to avoid tourist traps are: a) ignore all touts in Kabukicho, especially the black touts. b) Research the shop you want or walk into Manzoku which will help you c) Focus on what an area is good at. In my experience, most tourist traps are run / staffed by non-Japanese but Asian. Most often Chinese. There are legit Chinese massage girls who give just massage. But just in case I would carefully review shops OR use Manzoku.

Major adult areas of Japan tend to specialize in one or two things. For example, if you go to Yoshiwara there are over a hundred soaplands, even though many stations in Tokyo have exactly zero soaplands. If you want an oppai pub or hostess club, go to Kabukicho in Shinjuku where the best ones are - among hostess clubs there are hundreds in one tiny area of Kabukicho. Exactly zero in most other places. So each location tends to have its concentrated specialty. Due to very intense competition in Yoshiwara, you tend to get more when you pay more but Yoshiwara is expensive. A super expensive shop is probably going to be super good - luxury facilities, solidly above average ladies if not sometimes amazing, good skills and service.

By default I go to Kira Kira where the girls are decent, service is generally very good, and it costs 1/4 to 1/2 of Yoshiwara. But I will try Yoshiwara one time anyways just for the variety, will review next time I go. It is worth emphasizing that Yoshiwara is in an expensive part of town.
