ANGELES CITY – Motorcycle-riding-suspects (MRS) on Tuesday picked wrong targets when their victims, both American tourists on pleasure trip here, put a good fight and arrested them eventually.

Senior Supt. Eden Ugale, acting director of the Angeles City Police Office (ACPO) , identified the victims as Jonathan George Haberski. 37, and Zach Kyle Williamson. 34, both American nationals staying at 6th Street, Barangay Balibago in this city.

He said the victims were also martial arts experts and trained on hand-to-hand combat.

The two foreigners, Ugale added, had just stepped out from a hardware shop along Jake Gonzales Boulevard where they bought several tins of paints when the suspects suddenly appeared from behind and grabbed Haberski's gold necklace worth P70, 000.

The suspects, authorities reported, quickly boarded their getaway motorcycle, a black Honda TMX (UU 2706) , but the victims gave chase and had them restrained.

Commotion attracted the attention of patrolling cops and apprehended the suspects past 3 pm.

Police identified the suspects as Cromwelle Cayanan. 19, of Sitio Mali, and Antonio Manarang. 31, of Maligaya Street, both of Brgy. Cutcut.

Haberski recovered the stolen necklace from one of the suspects.

Lawmen brought the suspects and the motorcycle to Station 6 for further investigation as criminal complaints ranging from robbery with intimidation and physical injury are being readied against them.
