Got there about 3 days after the currency went to 25 to 1. Exchange places in center were ranging from 24.5 to 25.5. Only exchanged once and brought Hrivnas home. Stores had not yet adjusted to this. Ran into some Germans buying all the Ritter Sport chocolate bars at a market to take home because they were, with the new rate, way cheaper here. I think the prices will have to adjust for the imported things quickly though.

Unfortunately, I had prepaid for a room at the Dnipro Hotel and did so before the currency fell, so didn't get the advantage on that. I found the Hotel fine, though there were the mix of people there on staff that were very helpful and then there were those who did the minimum they could to make you go away. It is very well located in the center and I asked two people at reception about guests and both said bring them on, no problem. I checked the lobby bar when I passed through at night and only once did I see a lady alone. She smiled and waved when I passed, so I stopped to check her out. She spoke English well and asked if I wanted company. She was fairly attractive. For being at least 45 years old. I passed. Did see a few other mongers bringing in girls a couple of times also.
