I and a friend of mine both fucked a girl out of there named Erica. Generally there are only 2 o 3 girls in the place, and not to appealing.
I think Erica is the one I got the offer from. The others were all fat.
A year or so ago, there were a couple who worked there that would go for the sex, but they are now long gone.
That was when I got the info, so I guess it was true at the time. What I like about Tejabanes is the quiet no pressure environment. Most of the women are attractive. It is open in the daytime. It would have been a nice alternative to the strip club scene.
Anyone try the "newish" club Tapanko? How does it compare to, say, El and Ella?
I haven't been to Tapanko, but I've been to the other strip club in la zona called Osiris and I've been to El Y Ella. Osiris seemed bigger, busier, newer, more expensive and more active. Osiris constantly had a dancer on stage. At El Y Ella they waited until it got busy. Osiris had lots of customers. I've been the only customer at El Y Ella more than once (and also at Andromeda). It seemed like the music was louder at Osiris. The furniture at Osiris was newer. There were more good looking women at Osiris, probably due to there being more dancers to choose from. However, my experience is that the quality of the women at strip clubs changes daily, and the dancers move to different clubs and different cities regularly.
Tapanko has a facebook page and they have some pictures. The Osiris page is empty.

It is not a bar to go to and expect to find girls for sex. The waitresses can leave with a customer if the place is not busy if they so choose, and if they do, they have to pay the bar x number of pesos for this opportunity. The bar also offer some great flank steak called (arrachera) and shrimp sold by the kilo. I have been in this place so many times that I have lost count, but have never seen a gringo in the place, other than people who I bring with me. Here is pics so you can see the type of place it is.
I generally have good luck finding girls in the discos on the malecon like Mandela and ROO,
At my age I feel out of place in the discos. I would be interested to hear some details about this approach. What is the age difference between you and the girls you find? Are these girls locals or tourists?
Another poster mentioned finding working girls walking on the malecon on Sunday night. I haven't had any luck with that. Comments? He also mentioned finding working girls on Insurgentes. It didn't work for me. Someone else mentioned looking in the area of the Erendira hotel in old town. Again, no luck.
No, it's diagonal from the Farmacia. NW corner. On the second floor.

Thank you. Urban and I will check it out next week when we arrive.

Based on your directions, I assume the bar is called Travienso's. If you go north another block or two there is also Ballena Azul and Tono's.
I checked out the last two bars once and didn't find much interesting. The women there were fat like the ones at La Botana. I assume they were working girls. Has anyone else had any luck there?
Been there (La Botana) probably 20 times and never once has there been any quality girls in the place, and in fact most are old, fat, and ugly, and that probably is giving them more credit than is deserved. I am speaking reality.
A few years back that was also being said about Las Antorchas. Lately it seems like a popular place. What do you think about the quality of the girls there?

Strip Clubs
PROS.
At least one good looking girl in each club, sometimes several.
Rooms on site or takeout available.
You get a chance to meet the girls first before choosing.
Lap dances are available (can be very wild compared to US).
Many locations in town.
English speaking staff is common (less so for dancers).
CONS.
Only open late at night.
Waiters often try to cheat you on your change.
Many of the staff ask for a tip (doorman, waiter, dancer, bathroom attendant, guy who times your session).
High prices.

Most of the girls I am with are of very high quality, and are in there early 20's and college students from Vallarta, but I also meet many who are on vacation from other parts of Mexico. Feel free to come out some time and party with me if you like, so you can see first hand, and the drinks are on me. The places like Mandela and ROO do not get going until 11:30 or 12. I generally arrive about 11:30 and I always have the best table in the place reserved for me next to the dance floor! (wish we had the opportunity to use smilies in our post) As I stated in a post yesterday, I will also be around El Torito late tomorrow afternoon (Friday) if you care to have a drink. Just post so I know to for sure be there.
Thank you for your postings.

They are there normally between 5 to 7. Not many but a few. The last time I was by there was about 6 months ago, but I use to pass by this area quite often to visit a friend who was staying at the Azteca Hotel. Hotel Erendia es located a couple of blocks from there and on the same street.

Las Alazanas
In la zona there is a brothel called Las Alazanas. You walk in, see women standing against a wall and you can talk to them before choosing one (or not). At least that's how it was when I was there over a year ago. It is quite a contrast to the strip clubs. Stravaganza was pretty rough too, but I heard it was rebuilt as the new strip club Tapanko. So as far as I know, only Las Alazanas and the two new strip clubs Osiris and Tapanko are open there now. Can someone update me on that?

"I have heard that Puerto Vallarta has a red light district but I didn`t know where it is. I found it and discovered that this was definately not the ambience of the high priced strip clubs. There were dirt and concrete floors, a general sense of disrepair and just plain ugly facilities. But inside these places were a great number and variety of girls. I was frankly suprised by number of reasonably attractive ones amongst all the fatties!".

John Dough,
Here is another place for you to check out. It is typical mexican style cantina called La Reja (La Ray ha) It is on the same street as where the street walkers hangout and about a block and half from La Botanas. Most everyone in the area knows of this place, as it has been around forever. At times girls will be hanging out inside. Most are fugly, but once in a while I will see a nice looking one. The bartender is very hot looking that works during the day until 3pm, but she is married to the son of the owner, who also is in there quite a bit, as is the husband. Here is a pic of a girl who was available this past Friday. She asked me for 800 pesos, and told me I could have her company for as long as I wanted, but I did not have the time, as I already was meeting someone. This was the first time I saw her. She said she was from Guadalajara.
