If they are relatively reasonable in comparison to the known rates of the various long--standing options in Kiev, I wouldn't worry about the modest commission the taxi driver might be receiving for bringing them a new client.

But why only one apartment? I remember when I tried this with a taxi driver, he took me on a tour of five or six apartments to see if I liked what I saw. I was too unfamiliar with the streets of Kiev back in those days to be able to note the address, but I remember wishing I could.

Anyways, I always looked at the driver as a support in terms of translating for me, as well as security when venturing into unknown buildings and locations in various parts of the city, which lacked the more secure feeling of a public place with many people around. I felt I would be virtually at the mercy of whoever was there in an unknown building, street or alley way in a foreign land, undergoing times of economic desperation -- the kind of desperation which often drives some people toward criminal acts, especially against tourists potentially with some money in their pockets. So I was happy for the driver's company. So I looked at the company of the driver as being worth his small commission.

You can also ask around with other drivers who might be able to take you to a larger number of places, so that you can have more options than the one driver and apartment.

I had the impression that a fair number of the Internet website ads from what I assumed were agencies, were actually brothel type girl apartments where a number of ladies were located waiting to be sent on calls or receive Incall visitors. So I suppose it's worth asking about when you're on the phone with an agency, if you can come to their location and select which girl you like, and how many girls do they have there at their location at the moment. If anything, Turkish people are by far and away the most disliked group of people here. Then it's a toss-up between Indians, Africans and Uzbeks / Tadjiks. Asians are somewhere in the middle with most of white westerners at the top end of the scale.

Having said that, if you are good-looking, you'll do well regardless of race. There are far better places to monger though. If you do your homework beforehand, you will make out okay. If not, you'd be hard pressed. I can tell you that the majority of men who don't do their homework leave Kiev disappointed. Kiev requires work unless you just want to go to the disco / strip clubs, but if that is your intention, you might as well do it at home and save the cost of flying and staying here.

Money talks, but remember these girls are human. Looks and personality matters. They are not going to stay with you past the agreed obligation if you're a 65 year old guy with nothing in common. Treat them right, learn to speak Russian and be a gentlemen and it will pay dividends. Thanks for the helpful info on Kiev. I'm not a lazy guy, and I enjoy learning about new cultures and languages. I speak 3 different languages myself, so I can add some Russian to the list, well at least some simple words / phrases to show I'm genuinely interested in their country and culture. I'm not the wham and bam monger that tries to cram as much pussy a day as possible. I like to hang out and get to know the girl because it makes for a better experience and connection. A good sense of humor is easily translatable in any culture, so that's my way in. Doesn't always happen that way but it usually does. So I am glad you had the last laugh on this scammer and did not send her any money. You would surely never have seen her or your money again. Know this with a certainty, and no regrets, despite how cute the pics looked to you. There is no logical or justifiable reason for her to not like "virtual" tickets, other than that it does not allow her to get her greedy hands in your cash. That should be absolutely clear.
