Last month we migrated the forum to a new, more powerful server.

The latest version of PHP on the new server included several subtle changes that were not compatible with our programming code.

These differences were so subtle that it took several days for the anomalies to be identified. Once we identified that we had a code compatibility issue, my programmer and my server administrator worked diligently for several days to comb through all of the forum's code searching for and modifying our code to work with the new version of PHP.

One anomaly was that a small number of posts were "eaten" by the system. We believe it was limited to posts containing a very specific, very little used character that we believe was either a hyphen or a semicolon. We're not exactly sure because our subsequent code modifications fixed the problem, thus preventing any additional examples of the anomaly.

I like Bangkok more than Pattaya as there are much more other things to see and do in Bangkok than in Pattaya. But I had great fun in Pattaya on my first trip there too. Actually I rented a studio in Jomtien (which is a suburb of Pattaya, less busy with a better beach, but still only a short hop on a songthaew away from Pattaya) and although I visited the Walking Street agogo clubs, walked Beach Road and crawled Soi 6 up and down a few times, I finally pulled my companions from a beerbar in Jomtien ("Country Road III" if I remember well). Perhaps it was the abundance of the sex on offer in Pattaya that made it less attractive? Pattaya is really made for quick consumption, ST is the norm and I am more of an LT-man. Jomtien is more laid back, there is less hustle.

The short answer to your question is that I'd recommend both. Bangkok and Pattaya are just two hours away by road so you could easily split your trip between the two. I'm assuming you'll be flying in to Bangkok, so spend at least three days there. Stay in the Nana area and spend at least one night visiting the gogo bars in Nana Plaza (Rainbow 4 and Mandarin are my favourites) and one night visiting the gogo bars on Soi Cowboy (Shark and Baccara are the best here in my opinion). During the day you might like to go to a massage parlour. If so Nataree has the largest amount of young, pretty girls but Mango and Annie's always get good reviews on this forum too. I talked at length about these places in my diary on the Bangkok pages about two weeks ago. Bangkok is great for regular tourists too so if it's your first trip to Thailand you might like to consider the floating markets, the Grand Palace, w a t Po, w a t Arun* and Ayutthaya.

To get to Pattaya you can either take a taxi for about 1200 baht or a bus from Ekkamai (just a few stops on the skytrain from Nana). I'd recommend staying in the Soi Buakhao area. Walking Street is a must-see for a first-timer. The cheapest I ever got for LT anywhere in the world (mostly mongering in South America) so I wasn't complaining. I still haven't really explored the Beach Road scene yet, but I will have to. I went to Sabai Dee. Great experience but a bit on the expensive side. Plus I saw how they jack up prices for some foreigners (like some Indians). I'm Asian (American) so they charged me 500 less.

I will be back. Even if it is a 20+ hour flight for me!

In fact in my diary I've stated that gems can be found and I've also written somewhere else that if I was an ex-pat for example, I'd be a regular.

But what people often overlook it seems is the 'thrill of the chase'. On Beach Road you walk along, chat to a few girls and then take your favourite back to your hotel and fuck her. That's it, night over. It's all about the sex. But when you're on holiday, especially if it's your first time, you want to party. Any first-timer will be like a kid in a candy shop on Walking Steet, people-watching, seeing the bright lights, visiting lots of bars, drinking cheap (ish) beer, admiring hundreds of beautiful semi-naked girls before picking a young hottie to fuck. Yes it's expensive and of course better value can be found elsewhere but it's exciting. I still get a buzz out of it, even now. That thrill just isn't replicated anywhere else in Pattaya.

First of all, thanks for the great recent reports (especially to SirLancelot). Great reading and updates for me, as I'm headed to Patts for the second time in the beginning of May.

Having tried most massage-categories that Patts has to offer (Soapy, Oil-massage etc.) , I'm missing the tantra-massage. And haven't been able to google any place in Pattaya that is boasting of that service. Or even mentions it. As a keen reader of the Patts-threads here in ISG (and another forum) I have noticed that tantra (or anything closely like it) is hardly ever mentioned. I'm European. And perphaps it's just a thing where I live, that massages can be "tantra"-massages too. However. If anyone in here should know of a place in Patts where you can get that kind of service (not neccesarily called tantra. But also "tantra-like") , I would highly appreciate a hint.

Note: To avoid any discussion about what tantra is. Here is what I mean. : A massage that mainly consists of erotic stimulation and caressing (all over the body) instead of a massage that mainly / partly is focusing on relieving tension of muscles.

Last month we migrated the forum to a new, more powerful server.

The latest version of PHP on the new server included several subtle changes that were not compatible with our programming code.

These differences were so subtle that it took several days for the anomalies to be identified. Once we identified that we had a code compatibility issue, my programmer and my server administrator worked diligently for several days to comb through all of the forum's code searching for and modifying our code to work with the new version of PHP.

One anomaly was that a small number of posts were "eaten" by the system. We believe it was limited to posts containing a very specific, very little used character that we believe was either a hyphen or a semicolon. We're not exactly sure because our subsequent code modifications fixed the problem, thus preventing any additional examples of the anomaly.

Any member whose post content was inadvertently not published is welcome to re-post their original content.
