Another peculiar thing is that they might want you to pay the taxi fare upon arrival. That means you need to be in the general vicinity. Unfortunately, they express this in a vague way.

1. I do not give or accept cell phone numbers anymore. 2. I tell them face to face or via Internet the place, date, time, and tell them I will not wait over 30 minutes from appointed time. If not arrived within that time frame I will not be there, forget it. That's what I tell them.

Amazing results. They either don't come and I get on with other stuff, or they come a bit early or within 15 minutes of appointed time. An Australian tourist has been roaming the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) since last month begging for money from passengers and employees to buy food.

Michael Morran, 46, has sold his mobile phone for P300 to buy food and bottled water.

Morran claimed that the Australian embassy refused to help him because his situation is not considered an emergency.

He has been sleeping at the waiting area of the NAIA.

Morran told reporters that he arrived in Manila last November from Bangkok where he stayed with a Thai girlfriend for over two months.

He flew to Bangkok in September with enough money to help his girlfriend undergo plastic surgery.

"My girlfriend became pretty after the surgery. But after a couple of weeks her attitude changed," he said.

After running out of money, Morran claimed that his girlfriend's relatives beat him up, prompting him to fly to Manila.

He has not been seen at the airport since last week.

They will need new cell phone, internet camera, money for their son who got bit by a dog, or help with tuition. They will "lose internet connection" or "travel to province" during your visit. Others will just chicken out in actually meeting you. A few will want to bring a friend or two along on the date. When all is said and done, it is easier and often cheaper to hit EDSA complex for a date.

Your experience may differ (I hope) but don't get your hopes up about actually meeting more than a (small) handful. There is a lot of money to be made from DIA and FC. I put in my profile that I don't send money over the internet and I got a lot fewer interests after that, but a better success rate in meeting girls. It helped weed out the scammers.

Anyway, good luck. If nothing else, it is a cheap form of entertainment while you are pining for the next trip.

I've been on FC for about 2 months, in that little time, a good majority of the girls have tested me by asking for small sums of money. I'm sure they are just trying to open the door for a large cash-out. Watch out for the ones that try to defeat the FC security protocols and ask you for your direct email or FB info.

The real girls (I think) I've met have been very skittish and ultra conservative. I have no doubt it would take several dates just to get them back to the hotel. I think Pete's recommendation for an uncomplicated date is the way to go.
