Thailand and Burma diary, day 19, Pattaya
[blue]=============================================
Greetings Everyone,
Last month we migrated the forum to a new, more powerful server.
The latest version of PHP on the new server included several subtle changes that were not compatible with our programming code.
These differences were so subtle that it took several days for the anomalies to be identified. Once we identified that we had a code compatibility issue, my programmer and my server administrator worked diligently for several days to comb through all of the forum's code searching for and modifying our code to work with the new version of PHP.
One anomaly was that a small number of posts were "eaten" by the system. We believe it was limited to posts containing a very specific, very little used character that we believe was either a hyphen or a semicolon. We're not exactly sure because our subsequent code modifications fixed the problem, thus preventing any additional examples of the anomaly.
Any member whose post content was inadvertently not published is welcome to re-post their original content.
Thanks,
Jackson[/blue]
Be aware around 10D Cinema on Walking Street
The Iranian guy who owes the 10D Cinema on Walking Street is a very desperate guy and that's why he can make some damage to your ear.
I walked on Walking Street today (around 2:45 a.m.) A man who walked just 10 meters before me would not get the flyer from the Iranian guy who owes the 10D Cinema. The man who walked 10 meters before me made a very clear gesture, that he was not interested in that flyer (the Iranian guy who owes the 10D Cinema on Walking Street want to give away). The Iranian guy who owes the 10D Cinema on Walking Street was insisting. And all the time, the man who walked 10 meters before me made very clear gesture that he was not interested.
The man who didn't want to take flyer walked peacefully without making anything wrong. No provocation at all. The Iranian guy follows that man about 25 seconds without saying anything. And suddenly the Iranian guy who owes the 10D Cinema shouts very loudly in the man's ear: "ASSHOLE!" in Iranian. (Well, that's why I mention the owner as Iranian, as I am also from Iran, and as I understand the Iranian word for "asshole", as a matter of a fact. And thanks to God, that it wasn't me, otherwise that Iranian guy who owes the 10D Cinema on Walking Street could get my beer bottle in the very middle of his skull ! Well, all right, I maybe be in a Thai prison some time, but the Iranian guy would get his lecture in this way any how. :)).
The guy which was attacked by that desperate Iranian guy who owes 10D Cinema, walked without making any fight, as he looked also a very peaceful man.
The moral is here: Be aware, my fellow mongerers, be aware around 10D Cinema on Walking Street. Because you can maybe be attacked by that Iranian guy who owes 10D Cinema on Walking Street.
Personally I will boycot that cinema, even I am fond of cinema. I don't think it's all right, some people be attacked (in this way) when they are not interested in the flyers some people want to give away. I am also ashamed to be Iranian, as one of my countrymen can find such a thing to do against a peaceful man.
Do you know any exchange booths will accept a 1996 bill.
Hi.
Got stuck with one 1996 $100. 00 bill from my local Chase bank in New York.
Didn't realize it until I went to an exchange booth here in Pattaya exchanging multiple 100's.
The clerk return the old bill and pointed to the bill date.
Just wondering if anyone knows of a atm booth or bank in Pattaya that will accept old 100. 00 bills.
Thanks.
TC.
