After one year back in Kiew.

So many posts here regarding prices. So let me tell you that the price to take out a girl from Rio is double the price in griwna. One year ago it was 3. 000 griwna, now it is 6. 000 griwna. Which is 220 euro and a little bit less than one year ago.

The prices for drinks stayed the same, at least I guess so as I drinked and payed the same as always. Taxis around Kreshatyk charges between 100 and 200 griwna, so increased as well.

Have been to a very good Italian restaurant Piccolino and paid 5. 500 griwna for 4 people, having 3 courses and 4 bottles of very good red wine as well as many other drinks. This is so cheap, unbelivable.

Hotels are still too expensive (better to take apartment). Stayed at new Hilton, good Hotel very close to Rio. On the other hand a one way from Hotel to Podol with S-Class was only 15 Euro! So those prices are low as well.

So at the end it is mixed feeling about Kiew right now. Some things have gotten way much cheaper as other things increased extremly.

Stayd only 2 days and will be back in May. Let's see what happens next.

Notes from recent visit.

If you have not been here before and do not speak Russia don't expect any concessions to the English language. Outside the tourist service there are few for non Russian speakers-but you can get by. After all you are here to shag not address the nation. The old Russian communist mentality is still evident in quite a few places, even some young people have it and you may see that resentful grimace from time to time when they are put out and don't want to help. Mainly though, the natives are friendly, engaging and pleasant and try hard and the dollar of course has a charming effect. As remarked elsewhere, the girls are well turned out and mainly slim tall and handsome and well educated without our Victorian sex hangups and somehow managing to present a positive and optimistic world view. The mentality I found was open decent and sensible. Refreshing after the slovenly overfed complex and careless western women I seem to meet all the time.

If you stay at Partner Guest House beware the glass walled toilets at 15 and 17 kreschatic apartments-impossible for lady guests in an open plan studio to do their business in front of you on view through the glass wall. I also nearly broke my nose forgetting the glass wall was there. The Partner service very patchy with long waits for keys and handovers-an under-staffing problem. Expect around £30 pn and crap non working TV in the rooms although wi-fi is fine and the modern apts on Baseina are very nice and convenient. Internet searching gives leads to a plethora of taxi-proximate parlours-girls all good value in my experience but generally hand job or light lesbi couples on site-eg Dolly or Allure. Although it is easy to spot where more is on offer eg see Relax portal. Two girls from Allure 1800 uah for a pleasant hour where they kiss each other and wank you off. Two Dolly girls at your appt doing the same 2500 uah. Night clubs do take away at western prices $200 or 500 uah for a private dance out the back. No open flies, just stroking, rubbing and touching of her naked loveliness. 50 uah tip for a five minute lap dance in the club. But you get the girl you want with no unpleasant bait and switch surprises. Which in my experience is always the case with Top Modals. Prices now half that of a couple of years ago so eat out is cheap (so you can treat yourself to cheap fine dining eg Mocco in Kreschatic Passage, with a huge menu of really good healthy stuff-no ready meal type microwaved rubbish here) -as are bits and pieces in shops. Although who comes to shop anyway. For sad single middle aged men this is a lifetime chance to find a genuinely nice girl that you could never have in the west. Do some unhappy trapped massage girl a favour and rescue her from a life of unappreciated drudgery in some salon in a corrupt and vulnerable country. Get her a visa and bring her back. Even if it lasts just a few years you will have had a nice pick me up for your ego. Read my earlier reports for more background.

Nb don't forget to carry your passport if wandering around late at night and bring two pin adapters for electrics.

I tried the salon Moulin Rouge last week.

It has a well-organized website, with lots of girls, quite a few attractive-looking ones. It even has a map of its approximate location on the website and the price per hour is only 1000 UAH.

The facilities were nice and clean, no windows in rooms. As soon as I entered to salon was offered tea, coffee and water. Nice looking blonde grabbed my hand and asked me to follow her. She took me to large room and asked me to wait there. After few minutes 8 girls lined up. It was really tough to choose one since 3 of them was model looking. I ended up picking the girl who greeted me. She gave me towel and took me to the shower. After some shower together we went to the bedroom. I stayed in Fairmont, Intercontinental and Premier Palace in the past and can say for sure apartment is better and more privacy.

2. Find a local friends. I speak Russian fluently, but I found local friends extremely helpful. With local guy everything (cab, restaurant, bar) is cheaper, they know city very well, they can help you to meet girls and invite you to their parties.

3. Try to avoid places like Rio. It's overpriced and overrated.

4. Visit local bars, dance and karaoke clubs.

5. Dating websites (mamba, vk and etc) also helpful to meet girls, just be strait-forward and tell them who you're looking for.

6. Massage salons also helpful, if you're nice with the girl you can get her phone number and can meet with her later in your place.

7. Don't take a cab on the street, it will be more expensive especially if you don't speak Russian or Ukrainian. Instead use taxi phone services.

8. Try to be regular in local restaurants, bars and become friend with waiting staff. They can help you to meet with ladies.

Somebody just adviced us to rent apartment, and the first thing I read is something about a hotel! Sometimes advice on this forum is useless. Like throwing pearls for pigs. Don't worry about choosing search option. I usually ask them who are they looking for. Just keep in mind not many girls speak English.

A little disappointment.
