However it will need to be either jail-broke or rooted, which is not that hard to do. It someone here has those passwords on a laptop, then they could easily share them.

Maybe you misunderstood him about the 2000 pesos and he was trying to give you the password. Hehe.
OK so I have had and use my Sentri card for walk overs in the past about 3 years now, I have just added my car, so any thing important to know about using the Sentri lanes on my return?

TTM.
If they have not inspected your car the first time, expect them to check it out for the first time in secondary. This is their initial review of your car. Expect about a 1 hour wait. If your car is clean, it should be smooth after that in Sentry. I had to do it once. Oh, do not be on your cell phone when in secondary. They may think you are alarming the smugglers on what they are doing. Stay off your phone or they can be nasty and one I heard got his car maybe rejected because of that or maybe some illegal stuff. Idiot was arguing with customs agent while my car was being x-rayed. Customs comes back and ask that he go sit inside with the supervisor, while he was there I walked passed the idiots car and you can see the little card with a note. Not sure what it said but I didn't get the note on my car.

I added another car, went through CBP first time, they never inspected it.
On return follow the taxi route to the bus lane and hotel Pueblo Amigo South of the park and Ped East. Turn North on that small street next to HPA. You can turn left onto Padre Kino and cut in the start of 2 SENTRI lanes in Mexico with concrete divider. Between 7 and 9 AM when a lot of cars wait to enter SENTRI, policia usually block off this cut in, making you go South on Padre Kino to the first rotary to join the 2 SENTRI lanes.
Driving over is much quicker, safer, nicer and cleaner than walking. If stopped by policias you just have to put up a strong and vocal resistance, holding all your valuables in hands, denying any accusations, claiming to be the hot boy toy of Tijuana's director of Internal Affairs, Maricela Partida.

Hello all,
I will be there in Tijuana for a week Dec 6 - Dec. 12.
It will be great to have beer with monger buddies and experience the charisma and beauty of Tijuana.
Let me know if anybody is in town during that time.
Thanks.

TTM.
The less stuff you have in your car, the faster it will go.
Otay is usually a bit quicker than SY. But several months ago in Otay, on my first cross back with a newly approved car, I had a small overnight suitcase. They guy searched every nook and cranny of it. He also searched my toolbox, etc.
A few weeks ago I did another vehicle, this time at SY. It would have been very quick (I had nothing in the trunk and the entire inspection took maybe 10 minutes) but the guy was busy inspecting some Isuzu Trooper, or similar SUV, with all the panels, and fender flares, etc. , that were attached. He pried damn near every one of them up to peer inside to see if this Mexican chica was smuggling contraband. Ugh. That part took an additional 15 or 20 minutes. I think he'd been at it about 30 minutes before I arrived.
So, keep it simple, don't have anything to search the first time, and it will probably go a lot quicker.
It's well known that a lot of US Citizens currently live in Hotel Leyva. Monthly rents there for many of their rooms run around $400 to $500 per month.
I talked today with one of my amigos that has been living there for more than a year. He keeps a permanent room at the Leyva, but lives & works in the US and only visits Tijuana on weekends. He was in the US enjoying Thanksgiving with his family when his phone blew up with numerous calls from fellow Leyva residents telling him about the recent goings on there. On Thanksgiving day about ten uniformed officers suddenly appeared at the Leyva and began knocking on all of the (approx. 50) hotel room doors asking all residents questions and demanding to see their passports if they were US citizens.
I don't know many of the details, but my amigo also spoke by phone with two of the unfortunate American residents that did not have their passports in their possession at he time they answered their doors. These two guys were taken into custody and were transported to Rosarita. In Rosarita they were processed and then deported back to the United States.
I spent 18 hours of Sunday night and Monday morning in Tijuana. Nice, easy walk over the new Eastern crossing. Had fun both in HK and Adelita. Checked out a few of the other places but they did not seem fun at all for a gringo like me. Adelita was actually most fun and had a lot of busty ladies present, both silicone and natural.
I got a chance to bribe som police officers. As noted in this forrum one should always bring the ID to minimize risk of police trouble. At one point at 9 PM at night I was stopped 30 meters from my hotel Velario. Of course the officers did not want to listen to me and refused to let me pick the ID / passport at the hotel but handcuffed me, drove me around for a while in circles and asking all kind of questions about sex drugs and rocknroll and how a bad boy I was and how many 500 peso working girls I had fucked and what a dangerous place I was in. Finally they suggested I dropped 600 pesos in the car. I did so and they let me go. Stupid rookie mistake to have actually read this forum and seen resports of actually the exact thing happen but hey. 600 pesos is cheap compared to what I spend in HK and Adelitas. Sometimes one make mistakes I still had an OK time in Tijuana but after this I was actually really scared of all the policecars driving around, and my lust of going back is slightly lower.
Policia was just playing with you, shaking you down for some loose change. There is nothing they can do to you. You should have been very firm, denied all charges, insisted on seeing a judge, enjoyed the scenic ride and refused to give them any money. They would sooner have to let you go.
Think of Tijuana policia as a bunch of local hungry but harmless meatheads who can get reamed if their superiors find out they have been harassing and shaking down tourists.
