And More Cagayan de Oro
Mortman, I like your style and postings. And you are good company!
Yes we did a round of the bars in the downtown area last night. Just to complement Mortman's posting, the 'Three Points Shots' bar was the new discovery for me. It has been open just a month and replaces the upstairs Thrives nightclub; same owners I gather. Some nice cuties there but, as Mortman says. 3000p for a short time bar fine (all inclusive) is ridiculous. It is located at street level on Capistrano Street, opposite the new SaveMore shop.
We called in at Japanese owned Gion and the New Love Oro; two Clubs like Spooks with comfortable seating. But both were dead on a Thursday night at about 10pm. No girls on stage at the time, a few sitting around the edges, just a few customers and we didn't bother to stay. Next then to Fantastic which is popular with some members here on ISG but for me it is a bit of a turn off. The plastic and aluminium cane chairs are not all that comfortable; the half dozen dancing girls had a rather fuller figure but one in particular I am sure would put a smile on D-Cups face. They danced mechanically, somewhat stone-faced, and mainly preened themselves in the wrap around mirrors. There seemed to be some nice young slim cuties (Guest Relations Officers or GROs) sitting in the back rows behind us but we had little opportunity to size them up.
There are a few down market Clubs, stackable chairs, like Hot Babes, Club 39, and Coras 2, 3. There seemed to be nothing much there last night, but sometimes the place for the real new girl discovery. If Mortman's still around we may take a closer look tonight. Friday and Saturday evening is the Night Cafe and street market and the Divisoria area will be buzzing.
As Mortman and Westcoast1 have found, finding and capturing chat-mates takes much more effort, patience, and let-downs, in this part of the Philippines than in Luzon and Cebu. Don't expect to bed a chat-mate after a few chats and a first meeting. In fact the going can be tough if you are looking for instant success, and the clubs may be the answer but at a big price, or use the street scene, at a much cheaper price but higher risk.

Cdo
I have nothing much to add on the current status of CDO as Mortman and Kongking have summed it up well. My guess is that the whole scene, together with the city will change dramatically over the next couple of years. CDO is one of two cities-Davao being the other-that are booming economically in Mindanao. Indeed, they are two of the only true success stories in the whole sorry country. With lots of local investment washing in, the club scene will doubtless change as well. There will be more clubs I think and perhaps slightly higher end venues. I can see that in Davao, the new Ayala Mall is forcing changes in the whole retail market.
I can well understand why some would find CDO attractive as a possible retirement destination. It's fairly well governed, as Philippine cities go, and it's reasonably attractive and clean. For me, in the end, it's just too small and there's no international destination available from the city, which means if you have to bail in a hurry, you're limited in your actions. However, once the new Ayala Mall in Cebu is completed, that may change the face of things in ways that are not entirely foreseeable. Right now, I find it too provincial.

CDO (again)
got stood up last night by a dia contact who didn't reply to text messages when she failed to turn up at scheduled meeting at 10pm last night. was in a bit of a bad mood as kongking and i had gone out for some dinner together at a really nice thai restaraunt, i was starving hungry and thai food being my favourite, i was looking forward to a nice dinner. i knew it was a bad omen when it took about four attempts before the waiter (on a work placement) got our order correct and then only when a more senior member of staff intervened. we placed our food order after the drinks arrived and after one hour went to investigate whether they had despatched the waiter to bangkok to collect our meals! seems like there was a mix up and the food order had not been taken. we both walked out in disgust without paying for the drinks. the failure of my dia date to turn up was just the icing on the cake.
kongking was otherwise engaged later in the evening so i set about wandering divisoria and i was surprised at the number of young hookers lining the streets after 11pm. when i say dozens i am not exaggerating and if street hookers are your thing, cdo beats cebu hands down. some of the girls were very cute, and without exception almost all will initially quote 1500 pesos to a foreigner and almost 99% will accept 500 even for long time. i spent an hour or so wandering around, stopping and chatting to the girls, who were on the whole engaging and friendly. the streets are quite dark at this time of night, but as i have always found on every visit to cdo i felt completely at ease, absolutely no danger or risk at all. obviously common sense (that intagible and hard to describe quality) must always prevail, but i am always polite, don't take unecessary risks and have never ever felt in the slightest way threatened, wandering around downtown cdo at night.
plenty of massage places, most offer legitimate massage although there are one or two places that are just fronts for rather tired old prostitutes to overcharge you for poor sex. i counted three blind massage places last night and although i had already had a very good massage earlier in the evening, i had this peverted fantasy of having some attractive blind woman rubbing her hands over my naked body. i checked all three places out and none of them would allow male customers to be massaged by female therapists, fuck that i thought, there is no way i am paying a guy to touch my body.
i ended up in spooks with an old friend last night and stayed for a couple of drinks. correction on my earlier post, spooks has a cover charge of 35 after 9pm which is still very reasonable and cheaper than most places. girls were of a good quality last night, the floorshows are better than most of the other bars and i had an enjoyable time there last night without taking anything out.
will be back in divisoria tonight if my dia contacts let me down this time, i will probably get a take away from one of the clubs. i need to get back to cebu to see daisy tomorrow, she is arranging a couple of students to meet me once i have checked into my hotel, the anticipation is killing me.

Bad phone!
I had at least two dozen dead certainties from DIA for my arrival in CDO but nothing ever pans out like you expect in the Philippines and always assume the worst. Some of these girls I have spent weeks and weeks chatting to on line to develop a rapport and make the first meeting that much less awkward.
To be honest, I missed meeting several of my contacts because something went completely wrong in the txting transmission. I sent several girls a txt saying,"Hi its me, this is my phils numer. I'm in CDO tomorrow. Txt back please." They never got the txt. 3 of them have sworn me up / down pretty good, saying they kept waiting for me to send my number. Once I had (later) sent the # in YM, they contacted me, too late.
On the other hand, in both CDO and Butuan, I got a LOT of they bring their mom / sis / auntie to meet me. I say fine, bring one person, but they bring two extra. I'm very clear prior in chat that if mom doesn't like me, she can take the girl home. Otherwise, its a short meeting, and the girl is going with me to the hotel. Usually in Cebu and Manila this is easy stuff, the mom / aunt sends the youngster off to my room with me. But not cdo / butuan. There seems to be some confusion. They leave and go home (all of them) , only to txt to set up ANOTHER meeting for mom / aunt to chat me. Nothin' doing', sister. Both the girl, and her mom / aunt / sis, got mad at me after, when I didn't want another public meeting."Bring her to my hotel, or don't bother." Is followed by this from auntie: "Why? What your purpose there?" I get the feeling the girl is too shy to tell her kin what she's agreed to.
Not so in AC. An aunt brought her niece (the girl) and another niece directly to Central Park. Once inside the room, the aunt grabbed my morning newspaper and said,"I wait in lobby."

Puerto Galera
Just did 5 days in PG (Sabang).5 go-go bars open (Sabang Disco, Las Vegas Disco, Philippine Village Disco, Venus Disco, Broadway Disco). Pink Panther was closed. The scene is OK for Westerners if you don't insist on the youngest, prettiest girls, because they are 100% reserved for Koreans. PV Disco and Venus Disco has a handful of absolute stunners, much better in my opinion than anything you see in AC, but if you are not Korean you have about as much chance of bedding Beyonce. I even tried offering P3000 ST (on top of the P1000 BF!) for one of them, and the answer was still no. Mamasan in the PV actually told me that those girls are not allowed to go with anyone but a Korean (the place is Korean owned). So, unless you come from that country which only even exists because the US allows it to, maybe you will find PG to be a frustration. I did.

I've gotten messages to that effect when trying to text in Manila over the last few days. That being said, you can never rule out the possibility that some girls just got a case of the cold puki when the time came to actually go through with their promises to meat with you. The girls also chat multiple mongers and another fellow may simply be occupying her hole for the next couple days or weeks. Expect a frantic burst of communication once he departs with his pesos and no commitment to long term fiscal injections via Western Union.

Cell phone problems
As CM mentioned, SMART had some problems last week.
I've also found that it helps to turn the phone off and on every once in a while. Sometimes the phone just needs a reset. Once I sent a pile of messages and got nothing back for a whole day, eventually learning that nothing had been transmitted. I've learned that if you don't get replies almost immediately, you should start trouble shooting.
And the reason I use SMART is because I had a problem with GLOBE a few years back. I lost several days because of that. At the globe office the lady said that this particular series of numbers is not working, would I like to buy another SIM. I smiled and said, yes, I'm going to buy a SMART SIM. I prefer to buy the load cards and I found with SMART that you might have to try to call in your load several times. You often get busy signals.
All this may sound trivial, but I wasted a lot of precious holiday time before I figured all these things out. X.

X
X, I feel your pain. Until quite recently I had both Smart and Globe post-paid and have had similar problems with both; dropped calls, network downtime, a voice explaining that the number I just called "is not yet in service," despite the fact that I had connected to it an hour earlier, and so on. In terms of service, I don't find much, if any difference between the two companies. I dropped Smart because the service people are hopeless and indifferent, whereas with Globe, I've found quite the opposite to be true. The problem with both companies is, I think, the failure to invest in network technologies outside of Luzon, coupled with an ever growing subscriber base. So there is an increasing number of people trying to access inadequately sized networks.
I have four Globe accounts, and when I do have problems, the Globe people are invariably helpful and fast. This kind of service is so unusual in the Philippines, that I like to reward it with fidelity whenever I find it.

GE
Its interesting you bring this up because the problem is going to grow like a tidal wave. I have noticed the "smartphone" revolution has come to the Phils. I have a friend who works for Verizon in the US (one of the 2 largest cell providers in the US) she told me that in the 3 yrs following the smartphone revolution their data load increased by 1700, no typo 1700%.

Life in a Duopoly

Signal works, walk into mall, signal dead.
Of course the simple reason is that Ayala owns Globe, so why would they allow Smart signal equipment in their malls, but it just seems a tad petty. Equally baffling is the way both Smart and Glovbe claim to have "widest network, largest coverage" etc. They cat both be correct.

GE info. Good as gold
Although I don't live in the Philippines, I had a third date with a gal (former viking gal) in Cebu and there were two things I don't like about her. 1 she smokes (sorry GE, I know this is your favorite bad habit) 2 she sends way too many texts and also complains that I don't reply. Right in front of her I send her a text, which doesn't arrive. (I had a hint that there was a problem because I gave specific instructions about the meeting place in SM mall which seemed to be ignored). I turned my phone off and turned it back on, send the msg, and she got the msg. FK! THis seems to happen most often when I send multiple messages. Just got an email from the gal who insists my lack of reply was because I had multiple gals in my room. I did, but that wasn't why I didn't reply! These problems do waste time and especially spoil your value with regular gals you may be trying to meet.
I just realized that this is in "other areas" thread. Probably should be somewhere else to give guys phone info. I'm can't be bothered, but thanks GE. I do make it a point to give my biz to companies that give good service, so will buy a Globe SIM next time in PI. THe ones I have don't seem to work. I guess they have an expiration date.

Engorged With Blood?
So you were eating her out and there was blood. Then you put a condom on to screw her? Something smells fishy here.
