Hey guys,
Can someone give me a a quick a few lines on Santo Domingo in comparison to Medellin? I have spent a total of a year in Medellin so know the city very well but have no idea at all about SD. I am in to the cheaper end of the market and I like to go out and have a good time with the locals.

i knew enough to stay put somewhere till i sobered up a bit so i sat in a restaurant and had chicken when the black gal from monday came up. i was a bit pissed because she was supposed to come to my hotel but didn't even call. big surprise. i told her to buzz off. 2nd mistake. i started feeling a bit more normal, for me, and walked around the skanky neighborhood. i promised that this time i wasn't going to get into trouble as i did 7 years ago. i talked up a few girls but none met the ridged bottom feeder criteria of price and looks. then in one bar i met some guys who were generous with the rum. 3rd mistake. yes, i am a fool. then i met senorita milk. aw shucks. my weakness. we talked and talked and i drank mucho coffee trying to overcome the alcohol. she was getting impatient. then i went into the bathroom to [url=http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord134][CodeWord134][/url] and count my money. as i was counting, she reached in and grabbed about 80 k out of my hands. i grabbed her by the hair and banged her against the wall. she gouged my arm with her fingernails but i didn't feel it until later. i wrestled the money out of her hand and she ran out. i was bleeding like a pig from my arm. the other patrons looked at me in terror. me, mello bottom feeder. i casually walked out. i had several strands of her hair in my hand. i guess my milk maiden is off of the list for now. aw sh- moral to the story. never take any advice from bottom feeder![/quote]that's was a good one and funny story.

From reading the SD forum I can see the SD Casas are a fair bit more pricey than the Medellin Casas. What I am really interested in is how liveable the city is and how friendly are the locals? Also is it like Medellin where you really don't need a car? I am looking at renting an apartment or maybe a room in Gazcue which in my understanding is kind of a Laureles with hotter weather and higher prices?
I met up with Jeff in the am and skipped the Gym. Within 30 minutes I was in three new casas, chatting it up in the back room some super sexy girls. Dios mio! I walked a cardio walk for about 2 hours checking addresses on Matt's list for later use. I'm getting to know this berg. I wound up in Mayorista of course and drank only Smirnoff coolers, 8 k, while talking to the local fawna. No more rum. Ever! Or that shit the sell that tastes like gasoline that they call Guaro in CR and Lightning in Mississippi. I chatted up an older blond gal who wanted 50 k for an hour + 24 k for the room. Or. Get this - 20 k for 40 minutes and 12 k for the room. Even without my slide rule I could see the upside of this deal. Up we went. Marina gave a wonder BBBJ and massage for an honest 40 minutes and almost cried at the 10 k propina.
Oh yeah. I have 3 bar tenders looking for girls with milk. I promised them 20 k ifn the girl produces big time. We'll see. Me. Big time prevert!

If that is the SD you are referring to the cheaper end of the market does not compare to Medellin (never visited MDE). There is no mayorista in SD.
Your best bet is to approach chicas while walking around neighborhoods. The rates are good. Also taxi drivers that are bilingual can secure regular working chicas at very good prices.

Unless you like it really hot, MDE has better weather. SDQ is really hot pretty much all year. MDE rarely varies from a high of about 78-82 F. MDE is a wealthier city with better stores (at least in Poblado). And the Spanish is easier to understand.
OTOH, SDQ has the ocean right there (though no beaches in the City).
Both cities have pay-for-play options all across the price range.
I prefer going out to "non-pro" venues much more in SDQ. There are some great Salsa / Bachata clubs on Avenida Venezuela.
Obviously, you will find more Mulata / Negrita types in SDQ, but they can be found in MDE also.
In MDE you have the Mansion and a few other places where you can hang with other like-minded guys. In SDQ, you may not see another monger (other than fellow casa patrons) doing your whole visit. Though if you take a 4 hour bus ride to Sosua, you will be surrounded by fellow mongers.
They are totally different cities. You should try both.

There are folks on that site that live in Gazcue. I consider the people in both friendly, BUT there are more tigueres in SDQ and people with an agenda or their hand out.
Food: MDE. I like the variety more in MDE, but I do like the fruit in the DR.
Transportation: MDE. I would want my own car in SDQ because the cabs aren't metered and can have a gringo tax.
Housing: MDE. You get more bang for your buck in MDE.
Weather: MDE. SDQ can be very hot, especially in the summer (bring your sun tan lotion if you have fair skin).
Quality of life: MDE. More upscale and modern overall, especially in touristy areas.
Economy: MDE. Seems like more people are doing well and working.
Education: MDE. People seem better educated.
Beaches: SDQ. Boca chica, Juan Dolio, etc.
Street Hustlers: SDQ. Can't escape them, even in Gazcue. For me this is one of the worst things about that area.
Lively Vibe: SDQ. Paisas are much more laid back compared to Dominicans. Dominicans dance!

Santo Domingo sounds well worth a month (I work mainly on-line so can be away for extended periods no problem) of my time to see how I get on. I am a decent dancer and love going out and having a good time so the city sounds ideal for me. If the girls are open to being approached on the streets that's perfect for me.
I'll do my best to give back to the forum and answer any MDE questions that arise if I feel I can contribute.
When negotiating prices I always think it's well worth knowing what the locals get paid for working a 'normal' job. 2 k is very roughly 1 USD. Kind of puts things in perspective.
Exito supermarket: 28 K per day.
Artists assistant: 40 K per day (the guy was super happy with this).
Teacher in a bottom of the ladder school: 60 K-80 K depending how many hours.
The higher end girls getting 150 k per hour are therefore onto a very good thing!

I want to mention that there are more police in El Centro than I have ever seen recently. I have had some close encounters where I flicked away joints at the last second causing me to rethink things. The place where we went I spoke with the jefe explaining that I was tired of looking over my shoulder and wanted a place to relax and smoke. I told the jefe that I would give 5 mil ($2. 50) to hang out in a private room or the backroom and smoke a joint. I have hung out in the backroom with the girls ever since. Pretty cool experience with a behind the scenes look at things. It is worth the 5 mil just hanging in the backroom with the girls and smoking with them. Most of them join in and everyone is happy. Every time I leave the boss tells me it was a pleasure and to come back any time. Just keep your shit on the down low and don't make a scene. Be a gentlemen and come up with good ideas where everyone benefits and things will get done.
As far as your hunt for milk goes, Solome at Zandalay has milk and is great in bed to boot. She is 18 years old, has a pretty face, GFE, and loves to kiss also.
