Bring them back in a taxi? Much easier and safer to take them to a by the hour hotel nearby for a few dollars.

P.S. You may find some pros around the bars on the 33 which runs through Laureles but generally it is an area for middle / upper class locals to hang out with their friends.

basically i met a girl on the plane from bogota to medellin. she's pretty, nice, and a normal girl (non-pro).

i find out later on that she is only 17. don't get me wrong, that is not what i look for. it just so happened that i befriended a girl.

what is the law concerning girls below 18? i know the age of consent is 14, but there maybe other laws for foreigners.

looking for advice on where to set my boundaries here.

If you are inviting streetwalkers to your apartment, think safety first and stay with a doorkeeper. Not even a difficult decision. If you don't like the doorman at your current location just find another apartment. Plenty of them available.

I don't like to take girls to some hotels for some hours. Surely I will not fuck streetwalkers only. I have a lot of Facebook numbers but I cannot know if they are, or semi-pro, or dangerous stretwalkers. In short time I will talk with them again to understand better. if you are a us citizen it is illegal for you to engage in sexual activities with a minor no matter where you are in the world. it is unlikely that you will be found out. but if you are. you can be prosecuted in the usa.

the age of consent in colombia is 14 but it is illegal to pay (or otherwise coerce) a girl under the age of 18 to have sex in colombia. laws are randomly enforced in colombia but for it to be legal in colombia. the girl must be willing to have sex without payment of any kind.

So perhaps best to walk away from this one, no matter how tempting. I don't know if there are cases where say a 17 year old girl has colluded with police to cause some trouble for a foreigner, whether to extort money or what have you.

This is my opinion with regards to tipping the casa jefes and my approach.

Upon entering any daytime P4 P establishment you will be asked if you would like a drink and then the girls will be presented. Afterward, you will have the decision to take a girl or not. If you decide not to take a girl, should you leave a tip or not??

I think you should, at least, some of the time. If you are going through a place regularly, and not taking girls, it is nice gesture to buy a drink or leave a small tip. As little as 2 mil ($1) sends a message that you are not cheap and not a sucker also.

As with all things Medellin, it is important to be respectful to the people that you see regularly.
