In the past I have always been pretty lucky in avoiding any lingering and unwelcome "bugs" from my mongering time in the PI. However, there is always a first time for everything. If anyone has some advice on the process necessary to procure pharmaceuticals (antibiotics, etc.) in the unfortunate event that I might need some in my upcoming visit, I would greatly appreciate it. Feel free to PM me if you don't want to respond to the post.

In Colombia & Mexico I often take one in the morning when I know I will be eating in a place unknown to me. If / when I do get sick another dose has always cured it.
That is actually not too bad assuming they actually do the PCR test.
Just make sure you have good insurance if you test positive.

They are a wealth of information for free. Many controlled drugs in the west like antibiotics can be purchased over the counter in the PI and when there is a drug that controlled, enforcement is lax.
Only specially licensed docs can prescribe opiates and benzodiazepines and then you are limited by the number you can purchase. The first question I ask before I see a PI doc is whether they pay the extra licensing fee to have this capability. My doc has a special relationship with a Mercury drug store so that I can get a double allowed supply.

Thanks, G1.[/QUOTE]I always carry Zithromax Z Pack. You take two on day one and one every day for next five days. The antibiotics cover you for two weeks. I take it if I am mongering in Angeles having fun with many girls. If I am only with dating girls I do not take any. However when I come back home I develop a cold because of pollution, contaminated water, contaminated food, getting germs from kissing etc. Then I take Zithromax to clear everything. So far have not caught any STD. However I like to pre empt. I also take OTC medications when I travel.

If you don't plan to travel with any antibiotics (and the Z-Pack is a good suggestion) you can hit any doctor's office in just about any city and get a prescription for same without difficulty or judgment, assuming you're in a reasonably decent size city.

Not quite satisfied with a double-vaxxing from the good doctor that morning, she had started diddling herself when I left. She didn't know I was standing there. It's standard practice when a known natural disaster is approaching to disconnect all services and utilities. The authorities are aware of the additional damage that can be done by fallen live power lines, water ingress into substations etc so they do this as a precautionary measure. These are restored when a particular trunk line or area is known to be clear or undamaged. It's not at all unusual for remote areas to have power etc disconnected for weeks.
Yes, the impact is for mzny regions from siargao to north Palawan, and Bohol seems to be the most severely hitten.
Now they say 208 deaths globally but the count is increasing every day. 73 for only Bohol at this time.
Its really a huge impact and we or they still don't know the final count.

They get their water from underground wells that get stirred up from the storm, full of dirt and visible particles. Many locals also are without usable running water for baths and washing clothes for a few days. It is SOP there.
