I don't know if it matters to you, the problem is that this forum is one huge thread. I'm trying to read, and I would love to get information without bothering anyone.

Thing is. Its like getting in the middle of conversation. Like you go 10 pages back and you see someone report on girl number 14. From where is the number 14? Is there a catalog? How did he get there? How do I get there?

Should I read from page one? Which page is relevant to know which hotels are good, which seasons, how to talk with taxis, where are the good and the bad places?

At the time I'm writing this report, I just got scammed by a wechat "girl". Did not know that it would be similar in the Philippines as in China.
She uses the nickname of "Jenjen Dee" around Ortigas, and I was actually the one who got in touch with her, when I saw all the pic that looked genuine. We agreed on the deal of 2000 pesos.
When she came and knocked on my hotel door, she was with another girlfriend and I was not sure, but she looked like a ladyboy. Completely different from the photos she sent me.

At that time I was already disgusted. I told that I booked only one girl, and she said that her friend was here for safety, and would be waiting in the bathroom.
I smelled something fishy and told them to leave. Then, the other girl decided to go away and only "Jenjen Dee" stayed.
After entering in the room, She told me the service would be only handjob, BBBJ and massage and mentioned she was only 17 yo. I realized that I did not ask for full service during the wechat conversation and did not ask for her age.

Finally I asked her to leave and she asked for the 2000 Pesos as the deal. I responded there was no service, so I will only pay for the taxi fee.
The tension started to grow and I was tired after a long day. Finally, I decided to save myself from any trouble, being in a foreign country with a "17 years old" in my room.
So I gave her the 2000 Pesos and told her to leave immediately.

In conclusion, I was stupid to think that using Wechat would be different in the Philippines. This lesson costed me 2000 Pesos. But I'm happy that she quickly left.
Be very careful when using wechat to call for a girl. In fact you should avoid it, and go to the bar to see the girl directly.
If you want to use wechat, please be specific on the service, ask for the age and the best is to make a video call to make sure that the girl is real and really look like the photo.

Meet them in the lobby or front door first.

Have the doorman / security prep first to check girl's ID upon arrival. No ID no entry. Have doorman prep with signal from you to not allow the girl in. Of course most punters will be too cheap to tip the doorman in advance for this and will end up being scammed for a lot more.

Look for girl number 1, start reading, and once done proceed in numeric sequence to the next.

Go back a year or so. That will cover the seasonal changes. And for, "How to talk to taxis," I find "Driver, take me to _____ please" usually works. Pro tip: Don't forget to ask him to turn on the meter. Now you have that sorted.

[/QUOTE]This pro tip reminds me of a time I got scammed by a taxi driver. I have been to the Philippines enough number of times to know how to talk to a taxi driver and what to check before we zoom off.

Now I wanted to go from Century Park to LA Cafe, a short ride up Mabini Street, rough cost around 70 pesos by taxi. It was afternoon and it was hot. So I waved down a taxi, asked the driver if he would go to LA Cafe, asked if he would go by meter (he nodded in affirmative), got inside in the passenger seat and off we went. Now I noticed that the driver had a small hand towel draped over the dashboard that covered the meter panel as well. I thought this was an indigenous and harmless way to keep the dashboard from overheating in the afternoon sun.

When we reached LA Cafe and I handed the driver 70 pesos, he pulled off the towel and showed me the meter panel which displayed a princely sum of 160 pesos. Dang! I had been scammed! No way out but to pay him the 160 pesos.

Lesson learnt. Make sure the meter is reset in front of you before starting your trip. Again, this does not mean the meter isn't doctored to pile up the pesos faster than it should, but its a useful tip.

I think the worst I was nailed for was p440; drunk at 5 am and with a bird, so I was distracted. The Philippines requires one to focus his intent. Situational awareness makes it less likely you'll be taken advantage of.

This was in the morning and no alcohol was involved. She and I parted ways near the Ermita Church, she climbed into a nearby cab and went to UN Ave LRT station, a maximum five minute ride. At the end he told her 200 pesos. When she asked why, he told her, "because you were with a foreigner, and I saw him give you money. " She made several mistakes. Did not check whether meter was running. Got into a waiting taxi, whose driver saw me with her and saw me give her money, rather than flagging one down. Many taxi drivers waiting at the curb, especially in monger areas, are opportunists waiting to spring.

Twice in Manila I was charged a 70 peso rush-hour surcharge in addition to the meter.

The first time I did not mind since I just got done waiting 2. 5 hours for a taxi at terminal 3.
