Also, the mindset of many of the uc girls, thanks to so many of our number that "saturate" Bangkok(Nana Plaza, Soi Cowboy, Patpong I, Patpong II, etc.) and Pattaya, is that we are looking for cheap, convenient sex, no more, no less!

Unfortunately, in Chiang Mai, with the uc girls, older falang can't have it "both ways" and be perceived to be good "candidates" for LT relationships(or, if it even got that far, which is highly unlikely!) while we are actively "preying" upon the "ignorant and poor Thai girls/women" from Isaan and other areas of Northeast Thailand!

-First and honestly, I am not really "into" Thai girls. LBFMs are not my "preference" and I suspect many who read and/or report in this thread feel the same way!

Let's say, hypothetically, Sweden, everything being equal; prices, convenience, sex techniques of the girls/women and, to an extent, a warm climate, etc., was a sex tourist destination country bordering Thailand(but, however, was populated by Swedish girls/women, LWFMs, so to speak!).

Do you think caucasians from caucasian countries would, by in large, still "flock" to Thailand? I think not!

I just had a VERY bad experience at Number 1 on Loi Khro, which I had previously heard good things about here.

I arrived at 8:00 and had a few drinks with a very cute girl, who didn't speak much english but had a very friendly vibe. She said she finished at 12:00 so I said I would come back at 11:00 and take her with me. She agreed.

I came back at 11:00 and she was still there, very happy to see me and said again that she would go with me at midnight. At 12:00 they tell me that they are staying open late because it is a "special night". I had been waiting an hour already which was irritating since I would have barfined her earlier if I had known she wouldn't be finished at midnight. I asked how much the barfine was, and manager very clearly said 300 baht. Said it twice and I did not mishear. It seemed like a good deal but it was late so I figured it was a discount. I get the bill and the barfine is 600 baht, I call the manager over and she swears that she never said 300 and there are "no discounts". At this point I am getting a little pissed off but I am looking forward to taking the cutie home and I pay the barfine, at which point the cutie says she is going to change and she will be back in 10 minutes.

I decide to wait exactly 10 minutes and request a refund on the barfine if the girl is a no-show. 10 minutes later another of the girls tells me that the cutie is waiting for me and wants me to follow her into a dark alley. I watch where she is going and go about half way I tell her no way, tell the cutie to come meet my back at the bar where my moto is. So the girl shows up pretending to be falling asleep all the sudden (10 minutes earlier she was full of energy!), so I tell her it's up to her if she wants to stay.

After some hesitation she comes with me, but when we get to my hotel she says she is going to sleep on the couch! What the fuck is that? I gave her 100 baht for a tuk tuk and told her to take a hike.

In summary, girl very enthusiastic, says she will go with me; actual barfine is twice as much as quoted; another girl tries to lead me into a dark alley where god knows who is waiting for me; girl goes home with me but refuses to leave the couch; I give her the boot.

BEWARE NUMBER 1 BAR! YMMV but I am out 1000 baht with nothing to show for it but my dick in my hand. Very unhappy monger!

Where exactly is it? Is it one of those places at the beginning of LK by the city wall? I did not get a good vibe form these places and avoided them.

It's too bad because it is actually a decent place to drink, not to pricy and the girls are not allowed to push lady drinks on you. After cooling off a bit I'm willing to give the bar the benefit of the doubt, that maybe the manager just misquoted the barfine price because of her limited english. Regardless, if you run into a cute little 20 year old northern girl named "Nan", she's a hustler so watch out. She works at Number 1 and frequents Spicy with her twin sister Nuun, who I gather is also not to be trusted. It's a damn shame too, I think thai twins would have been an experience of a lifetime!

That is FUBAR, have you thought about going back and complaining to the mama or if possible the owner? Might be worth a shot. It's possible that the owner might not know what is going on. Remember to be polite and smile, shouting will get you nowhere. I would also go as early as possible, while there is still some daylight and perhaps less alcohol in the ladies at the bar.

Thanks for the report![/QUOTE]I'm considering it but I hesitate for two reasons: firstly, Number 1 seems to be one of these Chaing Mai beer bars with an identity crisis--it employs bar girls and charges bar fines but there are few mongers and it seems they would rather ignore what happens after the barfine is paid; and secondly, if the girl was disciplined, or worse, lost her livelihood, unscrupulous though it may be, this is a small town and I don't want to have a run-in with her boyfriend/brother/whoever has decided that I am responsible. Violence related to disputes over WGs here is unfortunately common--the day I arrived I watched a group of girls beat another senseless over some minor disagreement, and a few days ago a girl was stabbed to death outside Spicy in a similar situation. Once they get to know you they do get pushy for drinks. You are right on the mark about the identity crisis. I also had a run in with some guy who was a friend of the owner, so I never went back.

I think somebody mistook apples for oranges. Or cm for Bangkok.

There is no waiting for the end of the shift to save up on bar fines in BKK for example. If the girl is found out she will have to pay dearly.

While there is a bar fine, no 1 bar does not push for johns taking girls out, they actually pay the girls sufficiently but they have to work hard all the time including cleaning the floor, toilet checks etc. Constantly. There is no lazing around there. Their toilets are clean.

The place is well run with great attention to detail and what happens to you after you paid the bf is between you and the girl since you are not buying her outright. Not many girls get barfined there and I had a friend who took girls from there afterhrs without the fine who did not even ask him for money, which again is more in keeping with cm which is not a mongering destination albeit a few service girls are on hand should the need come up.

In my opinion the girls working at no 1 are more keen on finding a boyfriend and the bar itself makes money from selling drinks which is something they pursue hard and the reason I do not go there more often because it feels pushy to me.

When picking up girls my advice however to myself and soggy is to really get the vibe and abort pursuit if the girl does not show clear interest.

And no, unfortunately I am not the owner.

By the way there are a few establishments that live from barfining like spotlight, foxy lady and star six which compare to BKK bars as far as their business practice is concerned and there is a real soapy too, sayuri with tons of girls and mostly asian punters.

[/QUOTE]I agree, refer to my previous posts where I say that it is indeed a decent place to drink, and also that this particular girl had been trying to get me to take her home. So in this case I don't hold the bar responsible. The girl, however, pulled a fast one on me.

I admit I am new to Chiang Mai so I am willing to take my lumps. I'm certainly not slandering Number 1, but as this is a mongering forum I think people should know that while it may seem like a regular beer bar, if you are looking for a sure thing there are better places to go, as you said.

I'm looking forward to getting to know the town better, as I really enjoy living here for many more important reasons than the mongering scene.

Cheers.[/QUOTE]You are certainly right about that. You might even talk about your experience to whoever it was who actually took your barfine, or the manager at no 1 and ask them if this is customary.

And if you stay longer you will know why not many here 'take out' as they have steady girls. Also as a tip, there are quite a few talented massage girls almost all of whom are unattached and looking. A lot of them from out of town which means no family here in cm. It's nice to find a girl with a job and make sure she keeps it so you get some time to yourself and don't have to support her 100%.

The girl here was young and nice, lady drink is 110batt then as what I get from the net, ST is 1000batt and ON is 3000batt, crazy man that mean I have to pay 3500batt for a ON, so I was not choose anything on the first night at there.

After drink for a couple of hours, I deside to going back for sleep, then during the time I going back, I find a place at the third floor name STAR IX or STAR 6, the girl here was average in looking, then I can say that here you can find a nice show that you ever had at another place at CM. 150batt for the entry and get a bottle of drink, then when I sit down for a while, a girl will come and keep pushing me to touch what ever you can but she also not stupid, keep request for lady drink. The price was 80batt, it's quite cheap, but mostly she will ask you to put the change of 20batt at her panty or bra as a tips. So I just do it cause you can touch what ever you want when you hug her and just a drink for 100batt including tips, but she was keep request for it. The price at here same as Foxy Lady, 1500batt for ST, 3000batt for ON and 500batt for barfine, so I was tell the girl that your price was expensive for me, then she intro another girl and say that is 1500batt for ON, so after a while huging that girl I was pay 2000batt (1500batt for ON and 500batt for barfine).

So, we was going back to the hotel to do the missionary thing, take off every thing, shower, up side down, cow girl,. Etc. The girl GFE was very high at the begining, after a while (I haven't cum yet) the girl was get a call and say have to going back for a while, then I ask for her contact. After that I was keep waiting her with my brother that have cum yet at Hotel. I keep trying to call her but not answering at all. What the damn service are they. So no more for the girl at STAR 6, only going there for enjoy the show.

The few I had a chance to meet were conceited. Generally they do not want to be seen together with a white man. Even if they are curious and talking to you only that), the conversation is not very interesting. They know little about the world and their own country. I agree with Mr. Islandboy: there are many nice ladies working in the Trad. Massage Shops, who would like to have a farang boyfriend. At least they are not spoilt by middle class parents, know something about real life and in most cases their annoying families are far away. Many have learned to speak English as well as, or better than the Uni girls, by practising daily with the customers. More young girls in the TM shops come fresh from Myanmar now, because they work for less, but they know little English or none at all and are extremely shy. Maybe for my next trip to Chiang Mai I will learn a few words of Burmese. Give them a tip (40 Baht without "extras") because they really need it!
