Postal ID security features
And here is the link for the eye dee and the app: https://www.postalidph.com/.
Postal eye dee security features:
On-site digital capture of fingerprints, photo, signature and personal details,
centralized ID printing and database to guarantee that the cards are authentic,
encrypted QR (quick response) code printed on the card can verify the identity of ID holder using a downloadable smart-phone application,
overlaid with a hologram that can be viewed only at certain angles,
ghost image and UV ink that illuminates in UV light,
applicant uniqueness check via the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS). It compares the fingerprint collected with the fingerprint database records to ensure the applicants identity.
This seems like a good thing to me. I have met many girls on DIA and Pina who had IDs, but for one reason or another, I was not certain about their age. They had IDs, but I feared that I might get scammed (like the police scam described here about a year ago), and sent them on their way. There is nothing in the world that I want less than a trip to a police station in Manila! Now all I have to do is insist on a postal ID.
I hope this is getting wide acceptance and that the girls catch on quickly. I won't be in Manila until May, and am looking forward to filling my days and nights with close encounters of the best kind!
Why I love Philippines, reason #263

My fav was when one of my provincial gals (posted in the PG) wanted an ID and she told me the place where she was getting it (p350). Later when I was walking in the area one day I walked into the business. Their legit business is as a printing shop. I saw a lady walk in and ask for an ID. The clerk took the lady's pic with his phone, connected the phone to a computer with a cable, transferred the pic to the computer, and printed the pic on paper. He cut the pic to size (about 1" square). He took another pre-cut piece of thick paper and with an ink pen, he hand-wrote: "PhilHeath", and "Maria DeLa Cruz" underneath it. He put a piece of tape on the picture and taped it to the thick new PhilHealth card and handed it to her. That was it. She paid and walked out, happy with what I thought was the worst fake ID ever. Nobody would think that was a real PhilHealth card. Previously my gal and I had been turned down at bars because she looked too young. BUT, my girl got a similar crappy fake one, and we used it at several bars / hotels successfully.
With the advent of hard plastic and holograms, me-thinks those days are over.
Health Insurance requirement of USD $35,000 upon entry February 10th
Just read an article that tourist arriving February 10th and thereafter are required to show proof of medical insurance coverage of a minimum of US $35,000 which includes covid coverage during their stay in PH.
United Airlines insurance only covers up to $10,000 medical.
Does anyone know about this?
Anyone know how to get $35,000 coverage?
Anyone know how to bump up United coverage to $35,000?

Upon searching online for Travel and Medical Insurance I found policies ranging $187 -$300 for minimum $50,000 coverage. United Airlines policy with $10 k coverage thru Allaniz cost $95. Online with Allaniz $50 k coverage cost $187.
So it is doable. Just be aware of the requirement.
