Wondering if others have problems breathing when they first arrive in Bogota, due to the altitude? Its double the altitude of Denver, Colorado. I had a hard time walking up a flight of steps at the hotel.
I noticed it a couple of times when I arrived. But not every time. It was not very severe and if I had not known about the elevation I probably would have thought I was just a bit tired or something.
Firstly, thanks Rewsna for your new map! I've added it to my notes and made a copy, just in case you want to start charging for it.
Also thanks to Kutler for your report including Villavicencio which I read.
After visiting Bogota for my cherry trip in July 2023, I'm planning my route back from the other side of the planet (Australia).
One thing I did in Santa Fe last time was focus on the clubs. Woodman09 was a great help! This time I want to focus more on the street girls.
In the clubs, you have the short sessions which I enjoyed, but then you can't clean up, take a shower. Also, with the street girls, I'm still a bit concerned about being alone in a room with a chick in a dodgy hotel. I haven't read of any problems, but it wouldn't be hard to be put into a bad situation.
What I would prefer, is to find a short time - 12 hour? Hotel which is 3 minute walking distance to the street girls, so then I can negotiate a longer session 30 - 45 minutes, a more intimate GFE, then kiss them goodbye, have a shower, chill on my phone for a few hours then head out to the street to do it again, at my own pace. Then go back to my nicer, quieter Hotel / AirBnB and sleep alone. Anyone know a place like that? I had one in my notes but I took too many notes as can't find the details.
Hi Zanny just a heads up your Jakarta map doesn't seem to be working anymore any ideas?
Wondering if others have problems breathing when they first arrive in Bogota, due to the altitude? Its double the altitude of Denver, Colorado. I had a hard time walking up a flight of steps at the hotel.
Where did you "hear" Bogota was double the elevation of Denver? Denver is known as the mile high city. It is 5,280 feet. Exactly 1 mile. Bogota's elevation is 8,612 feet. Definitely not double; just a little over one and a half times.
Do yourself a favor and never visit Cripple Creek, Colorado at 9,494 feet or Cusco, Peru at 11,152 feet. As soon as the plane landed in Cusco and depressurized I could not breathe. I had a headache for 3 days in Lake Titicaca, Peru at 12,507 feet.
I used to get short of breath arriving in Bogota and walking to immigration in the old airport. After all these years I have become accustomed to it and it no longer affects me.
Are taxis that you find around Fiebre and Troya late night safe for a quick ride back to Ibis hotel. Or do ubers want to accept rides that late in that area. What time is too late for walking back
Plenty of taxis all outside the entrance to Fiebre, Antones, the drive / restaurant Troya entrance, etc. And safe. If you felt really uncomfortable you could probably ask your mesero and tip him for getting you a driver but honestly never done that as you Just walk up to a yellow taxi even if there's not a driver in one of the ones parked, someone will notice you and call the next driver wherever he is to take you. It's their source of income so they're all usually on top of looking for their next job. For Ibis it usually cost me 15 k but one time around 2-3 am one guy wanted 20 k. One tip: Spanish isn't my first language and I always use to pronounce Hotel Ibis the gringo / spanglish way of pronouncing it (Otel Eyebus) and the drivers often didn't know where I meant so it was helpful to know the directions sometimes to get back from the clubs and I'the just point where he had to turn. Quickly figured out though that the confusion was my fault and I wasn't pronouncing it how it should be in Spanish (Otel abyss. Sort of) LOL. After remembering to pronounce it the proper way never had any confusion LOL. Others have had luck with Uber but I could never get Ubers to pick me up from the clubs and in addition sometimes in the clubs my reception was crap to even use the Uber app on my T-Mobile non upgraded plan.
Walking would be fine up until about 11 pm I suppose but around then the streets become less populated and while I've never had problems you're going to inevitably pass some people on the way back to Ibis that are drunk, high or just not in the best social economic status or homeless that depending on how you look and handle yourself could make you a target. I should stress though that I have never had an issue. For others just the thought of walking around SF puts them on high alert so to then add walking back to ibis would probably not be that fun for them so to each their own and for 15-20 k for a taxi ride I would just opt for the taxi after midnight plus it's quick and easy.
Others have had luck with Uber but I could never get Ubers to pick me up from the clubs
Very difficult to get UberX (lowest level) to pick you up from Santa Fe. Easy to get Uber Comfort or UberXL (higher levels, hence higher cost) to pick you up. The first or second driver usually accepts.
InDrive is also good (this is where you bid on the service). I prefer InDrive because the system almost guarantees the driver will arrive within 5 minutes. Uber arrival times varies. I prefer ride-share because you don't have to pronounce your address.
Also, if the ride-share vehicle is a normal car, they cannot pick you up in front of the clubs on the main street. I usually use the back entrance of Troya. It's safe to wait there; you have the protection of Troya security. That's why I like to leave before 3 am (I think that's when it closes). InDrive can be either a normal car or an official taxi. Not sure if the official taxi (from InDrive) can pick you up in front of the clubs; but I don't believe you can tell from the App which car type it is. InDrive is cash only.

Altitude sickness
Wondering if others have problems breathing when they first arrive in Bogota, due to the altitude? Its double the altitude of Denver, Colorado.
Someone mentioned they had working girls there. Went there last night and it seemed like a normal disco with couples etc. Didn't even get too many pro vibes.
I've been to Federal few times. You won't get the "pro vibes" you might be expecting. There were / are lots of women mainly looking for gringos. It's nothing like Fiebre or Troya (its a normal night club) and girls working their way. Every time I am there, I get approached and you can 'easily' spot the 'working' girls after a few minutes. The thing is these chics will be asking for USD, usually, they want 100 but some will even ask for 130. I once was tempted to actually pay the 130 to this chic bec she was a dead ringer for Meghan Good, real baddie. Ended up dropping the whole thing bec not only did I agree to give 130 she then ask for another $200 k so she can "pay her babysitter" blah blah blah. Even tho she was already in the club when I got there. That told me she would be drama so I said fuk it, no longer interested.
I usually run daily holding my breath from time to time before I go to Bogota. That works good for me.
Drug called Diamox that can help if that is a problem. It is best if you start it before going to higher altitudes but you can buy it in Bogota pharmacies.

Well boys I think I'm done seeking out new putas unless they've been vetted. I've been burned twice now with boring service and not doing what they say they do in their messages. I got really mad the last time and I'm probably going to get in trouble if I keep getting mad even if it's their fault. Who is some 18 year old kid going to believe if they're called to solve a dispute?
Seems to me the service has gotten more expensive and they're less likely to be involved or do what they say they will. If I just wanted manual stimulation I would just use my hands. These girls don't want to do anything, just lay there for a dollar. Also they all ask for money in advance so I'm not sure how to get around that.

Is it just me
Someone posted recently asking. At fiebre with some guys and 150 seems like going rate for medio.
So 3x what a Chapinero casa girl costs for on average less enthusiastic service. Not good or bad. All depends on the experience your looking for. Fiebre has tons more variety and fewer heifers.
Or does anyone else think these SF clubs are crap also.
I was just in Fiebre and asked the bartender the current price and he said 120.
So I'm sitting around trying to spot anything doable, it was shit on Friday and Sat night.
A couple younger guys sat next to me, they looked like they had office jobs well dressed etc.
So I ask them the prices and they say 80-100.
Maximum maximum 100 if she's really hot, I have to find better places than these dumps.
The chicas have bad attitudes and they are very high mileage IMO, way too many over the hill 30 something grandmothers.
The street scene was something out of a bad Quentin Tarantino movie.
Any suggestions for greener pastures would be appreciated.

Also they all ask for money in advance so I'm not sure how to get around that.
I had one 19 year old Venie in Medellin. She went straight for my mini-bar fridge in the room and tried to connect to my hotel room wi-fi. She only let me penetrate about an inch and said it hurt her while making a face. Said it was her "first time". Yeah sure.
So I told her to "get out" in a loud angry tone of voice and slapped her ass, I was tired of being the nice guy. I had agreed to 350 k and I said I was only going to pay her 200 k. I could have just thrown her out of the room and paid her nothing, but I did not want a confrontation. She got dressed and never batted an eylash, never looked at me. She knew we both knew she was a con artist. Out she went!
Starting to be the typical scene with Parque Lleras women. That is why you never pay them up front. If they get paid up front then the service gets more lazy and they give you less. If they try to re-negotiate in poor performance and do not perform what was agreed beforehand, then you have the right to pay them less.

She figured if someone is willing to give her 500 K for sex then surely they will not mind giving her less than half that for a "babysitter". If that babysitter could keep only 3 kids per day at that price, then she would have it made.
