New Colombian Patriotismand Good Old American Patriotism!
"In my opinion the USA is still the greatest country in the world and has less problems than any country but like I said, that's my opinion. "
Hmmmm.
I buy that it is a very very prosperous country (Superpower) and deserves credit for that.
But "have less problems than any other country".
Human development index, pure statistics, tells Us a completly different story.
All western Europe countries are ahead in that fundamental aspect, and even a country that suffered for comunism for 45 years, Chech Rep. Is ahead of the US.
But I like the good old American patrioism, it keep the American spirit alive!
After todays victory over Uruguay and, if Colombia wins over Brasil next Friday, the country will be in the focus of the worlds attention. For a good reason!
Then journalists will start to report about all the good stuff that has happend here, a result of 40 years hard work!
Medellin is considered to be the best place for foreign companies who wants to invest in Latinamerica and Wall Street journal awarded Medellin 2013 the "most inovative city in the world" over New York and Tel Aviv.
Colombians have been waiting for this moment for years, decades, that their country finally will be respected.
My personal opinion is that Colombia has a very long way to travel and can never make it!
Spain left dictatorship 1975 and exploded economically, culturally and knowledge wise.
I noted recently that Madrilenos many times speak very good English, at least without the typical Spanish accent. Only real effort achieves that!
Spain made a transition from a conservative corrupt country to a up-to-date democracy in a few decades.
They made it!
In Colombia no.
Few people speak English.
University quality is a joke!
If this and that blaha-institution is a "Universidad", then Kindergarten is!
This country or Latinamerica as a whole will never make it, poverty is permanent, mobilization is in fact low if one calls things by their real name.
But today Colombia is victorious!

I participate in a "rifa" on masajistaspaisas.com I can win free sex with a girl on that site. Blaha.
I get message from the site to visit this address: Calle 10 69 69 Medellin-Colombia.
Poblado, Parque Lleras? A club or a casa?
Anyone familiar with the place?
So why did you post this in the Medellin thread? Mmmm!
Here is what you posted! Sounds like you are full of it. LOL.
My first advice would be to join DR1, if you are not already a member. There are folks on that site that live in Gazcue. I consider the people in both friendly, BUT there are more tigueres in SDQ and people with an agenda or their hand out.
Food: MDE. I like the variety more in MDE, but I do like the fruit in the DR.
Transportation: MDE. I would want my own car in SDQ because the cabs aren't metered and can have a gringo tax.
Housing: MDE. You get more bang for your buck in MDE.
Weather: MDE. SDQ can be very hot, especially in the summer (bring your sun tan lotion if you have fair skin).
Quality of life: MDE. More upscale and modern overall, especially in touristy areas.
Economy: MDE. Seems like more people are doing well and working.
Education: MDE. People seem better educated.
Beaches: SDQ. Boca chica, Juan Dolio, etc.
Street Hustlers: SDQ. Can't escape them, even in Gazcue. For me this is one of the worst things about that area.
Lively Vibe: SDQ. Paisas are much more laid back compared to Dominicans. Dominicans dance!
